Anyone at Taldren!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taldren I have been thinking alot about UI's in SFC2OP.They are really difficult to use in TNG or other mods, for instance the galaxy class vessel has alot of phasers, but the BB UI can only hold 6 and if I put any phasers in heavy slots, the dont work, is there anyway you guys can make a plain UI that uses all its 25 slots and allows any weapon to fire from it, meaning phasers or heavy from any weapon point from 1 thru 25, im not asking for anything fancy because i know time is money, all i want is a UI that has all the 25 weapon slots available and no restrictions, and no picture is needed such as federation or any race ships, all i need is to see the weapons slots in the game and thats it; is this possible

Support for OP has ended. UI's are artwork and cost money. Besides, Taldren does not officially support mods (although unofficialy they think they are neato cool), so the answer is basically no.

This brings to light how much sfc3 needs a rework/patch.  I mean SFC3 was sold as a TNG game and  many of us are modding sfc/OP for TNG instead of playing SFC3 which speaks volumes about the state of the SFC3 game.

You can put up to four phasers on each hardpoint, and thus you can put 24 phasers on the Fed-BB.  Is this enough?  How many phasers does the Galaxy have?

You are the father of mods, well in my opinion you are, but I really wanted to make my own, i had no idea the phaser problem would be so impossible, thanks for all of yah advice anyways, and red, yup its true, i really dont like the sfc3, you cant even make new weapons lol, dominion vessels firing borg lasers lol

i know that, but it would nice to use all the galaxy phasers as it should be,

Galaxy has 11 visible phaser arrays, and the last one which is number 12 is only used when its seperated, but then the refit galaxy has to extra visible ones on the warp engines, so now we are talking 13 and the hidden 14, come on, 24 aint gonna cut it lol lol, they should of when they were making the patches just include a blank one able to use all points heavies or lights, i would of, makes sense to me, but hey like someone just said, they dissaprove of mods, seems so, since their so unwilling to do some things,

It's an ongoning process, I cant seem to finish it, Im always learning new things everytime im almost done, like for instance, my friend rod, just informed me recently that the klinks have more powerful torpedoes than feds do, meaning klingons, i had no clue, i always gave the feds the Hphoton, now i gotta make a changes, and the phaser thing is becoming a problemif a fed has 6 phaser arrays, when its suppose to have 13, it makes things wrong, itll be easier to fight her and knock out 4 out six, meaning she should be able to still operate with 9 phaser arrays, it sometime ticks me off, the UI i mean, makes things real complicated lol

Well, I think that you should be fine with the 24 phasers, use the Phaser 4s for the main phasers, and the Phaser-Xs or 1s for the secondary phasers, and if you really need an extra bank or two...theres always the heavy phasers.  Doesnt the Fed-BB have 10 heavy hard points? surely your not going to fill all of them up with Photons?

Gatlings, baby.  Stick in four gatlings, and suddenly you've got 16 phasers on one hardpoint.

didnt think that the gatlings had the range, comparable to the phaser-4s, now the G2s on the other hand...those might work good.

i had similar problems when i began a tng mod shortly before sfc3 came out.
leave the fbb ui and try the fcv ui. at that way u can get the phasers on the pylons to work.
forget about the phasers on the neck of the galaxy.theres no ui that gets them to work.consider them auxillery
phasers.that way u dont have to put in(for example) 7 phasers into a nova wich is a weak ship. should help balancing.
i would suggest that u limit the number of phasers on the ships. maybe 2 or 3 perhardpoint. in tng we always see a constant beam not 2 shortly fired pulses from one location.ph4 (1 or 2 per hardpoin)should be alright.tht way u dont make phaser power too strong compared to your torpedos as u probably will use standart torpedoes. give the klinks standart torps too with enough energy to overload them.that simulates the stronger torps. heavy photons are better used for quantums.and i doubt that klingon torpedoes do 100% more damage than fed torps.
if u go close to canon u might find it usefull to give the romulans plasma x torps. that way u have the heavy hiting plasma r left for the borg and no stupid excuse why other races use them to. for the dominion i would use plasma e.
in a canon like game u will have to give the klinks and roms disruptors as their primary weapons. well - disruptors are accurate but even they dont hit 10 out of 10 shots. u should give the klinks some more hull armor and enough energy to overload at least 60% of their disruptors. doing that will help the klinks and roms to compete with the imense phaser firepower of the federation.they will most likely will still have a weaker punch but a more accurate one. and the warpcore wont be damaged so easily. in most cases the warpenergy wont go down very fast if u give the ships some more hull.
that way it wont hurt the klinks and roms too much to lose a weapon - they can just switch another weapon to overload.
more constant firepower , not ultimate alpha strike. this might show the philosophy of the klinks to built real warships wich can fight out a battle and dont have to win it in the first strike. on ships with very few disrupptor u might want to put in some special sensors - they seem to increase the hit ratio. big fed ships should get some more labs than usual - this increases the shield regeneration ratio.
thats the way i do make the tmp mod im working on (i bagan 1 and a half years ago!!)i tried o lot of things to balance fed and klinks. while i have to say klinks were the hardest. rommies are easier because they have quit a punch with their plasmas and heavy disruptors.
making shiplist cost quit some time , balancing them even cost more time. but it is alot of fun seeing things working
just some suggestions

I've developed a in work SFC OP Shiplist that includes about 100 Post X Era (TNG Era) ships for OP.

Adam, I'd be totally cool with sharing my current work with you if you'd like.

Also - your ship models have hardpoints coded into them. I have a Galaxy X model, for instance, that has a hardpoint set in the readme.txt saying basically "use this UI and have this hardpoint set to whatever weapon you want to fire from that location (the heavy phaser from underneath the saucer section).
