In case you've been dying for news from me...
« on: March 02, 2004, 12:59:06 pm »
In case anyone cares, I'm back in the saddle after 3 months of looking...got a great gig in San Jose as a Director of Organizational Effectiveness. Let me tell you, people, anybody who says the job market is recovering hasn't been looking.

Anyway, this means that BattleClinic will once again be well-funded and active in supporting SFC...oh, and maybe a few other games too...ya never know with us...buhahahah.

Nope you really wernt missed around here but good to hear your back to work. Up here the job market is just as depresed, I have been hopeing the grain elevators and feeder outfits around here would start to hire by now but there has been nothing worth while. Even the aircraft plants arn't hireing.

Glad to hear you got work.

So do you mean that anyone who has been looking can see that the job market is recovering,

Or that only someone who knows nothing about the job market would say it's recovering..

Or that the job market is recovering and it would be obvious to anyone looking for a job?

Sorry, I didn't quite understand the statement you made about the job market...

But congratulations on the job...hope you do well on it...and glad to hear battleclinic is once again funded.

I would think he's the one to make sure the organization is such that the effectiveness is at it's maximum...in otherwords he looks at the set up of the business or group, and sees if it could be more productive...

At least that's my guess.

Wow! Welcome back stranger! Always great to hear from a fellow forum member who "disappeared."

I hear ya on the job thingy, it's all part of the "big game" that Bush/Cheney have been playing for the corporations, along with other govts., but I get called crazy, which I am!

Tell us about your new job and what you are doing, if you do not mind. I'm glad for the battle clinic stuff, but right now we have much info to keep track of, election year and many issues ya know?

Great to see you again friend! Welcome back!

Thanks all.

What I mean by that "looking" statement is that those economic experts who sit out there with incomes/jobs and say, "don't worry, the economy is picking up. You'll find something soon" have their heads seriously up in a dark wet backspace.

It's damn hard out there. If there is any "recovery" it's not translating into more jobs, really, at least in the 'States. Plus employers are taking months to get back in touch. I'm getting calls from companies that are saying, "we got your resume in, uh, November, and we'd like to talk to you." And I'm replying "uh, what did I apply for at your company again?"

Anyway, "Organizational Effectiveness" is a fancy title for training manager, except I get the added job of doing executive coaching and teambuilding and process/quality training, etc. When they don't pay you well they make up for it in title

Thanks again for the 'grats. I'm gonna go play SFC now.
