For those that need a job
« on: February 29, 2004, 09:33:57 am »
Many times I have read of some one on these forums that has needed or wanted a job. If you live in or near rural areas, the postal service is always looking for  rural substitute carriers. The starting pay is $15.22 an hour.  The hours are long and the work is hard but it might be better than nothing. Some routes have govt. vehicles and in other cases you  might have to supply a vehicle with an additional payment for mileage and wear and tear. Some of these jobs Might lead to a full time position some day but I would not count on it.  I am not here to make a pitch for the postal service but to give some of you a chance to work. If anybody is interested, PM me for more details or your questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Great post man! Darn, I totally forgot about that! When I was a VA work study, I knew this really good looking chicana that served in the military that was a VA work study also while in college. She had some dough! I asked her where she earned that money? She lived in Bastrop and did the rural postal thing!

Not only did you provide a good post, but for those that get into this line of work, it helps when you want an opening with USPS in a city or town.
