Unfortunately the rumor about the lack of a Hard Drive is still floating.

To me, the reason why I bought the box in the first place was for this feature.

MS states that due to the lack of developer use of the hardware, they had to trim some areas for cost savings.

Well, certain developers are actually using the featue in X-box live D/L and others are just starting to use the Drive for buffering and future gaming prospects.  Hopefully MS will see this.

IMO, I like the feature and it will be a driving factor on who will get my money in the console race.

PS3 is the safest bet, as Sony is outselling MS and Nintendo combined.  Literally.  The sheer number of developers that Sony has signed is....staggering.

An SDK is basically the programming version of a Playstation or Xbox, etc.  It lets you mess with the code, access debug features etc.  It's a programming thing.  Other than that I'm not sure.

Too bad not everyone is a developer.  It would be fun to fool around with the code and see what we can do to tweak the games.

Microsoft 'takes hard drive out' of Xbox 2

It appears that you may be right.  Not being a console sort of guy this does not affect me.

No more Linux X-Box hackers I guess .
