Has to be. That was one of the most intense drum duels I've ever seen. Well beyond the price of admission! I remember when leaving the other four folks with me who had heard of YES but weren't following fans were just blown away by the talent level.

That may well have been the concert I saw. Maybe it was nicknamed "Concert in the Round" for the revolving stage? But I do remember that they sure had quite a few YES members out there. Enough for one group to do a song and then go for a rest while the others came on to do another.

Pretty good interview, concert type DVD..narated by Roger Daltrey...

God, I feel old...I started listening to them in '71, and now the classic lineup is all over 50, with I think Steve Howe close to if not over 60...But an excellant review of thier 35th anniversary tour, and they sounded great

Wish, at 48, I could play guitar as well as Steve Howe...but I don't mak a living at it, just amateur.

Let's get together and murder the tunes...at least we'll do it with style and reverently...just tell me which 12 string to bring..I'm playing my Epiphone dove...don't have a good electric, so we'll have to stick to the acoustical

it's good to find a fellow yes person...

been starting a new hobby..rebuilt a Silverstone banjo and an Eko 6 string..working on an Eko Ranger 12 string (I like Eko, have had an Eko 12 string since '71)...my Fender Dobro is under the clamps right now, since it fell face down when my guitar stand fell over...hope it all works out, but I have a freind who is a luthier, and he gives me good advice (though I think he'd rather I throw him the business).

He's making a custom left strung guitar for my wife (who insists on the Dexter Sinister) ...he let's me watch while he's cutting inlays and setting the sides, bottom, etc..I'll learn it all eventually, and hope to make my own guitar in a year or two.

Not mad, a little jealous, they'll never come to Omaha...I did see the Reunion Tour in Atlanta, but only 'cause I was stationed at Robins AFB then, and the base ticket place was almost giving the tickets away...one of the best concerts I've gone to.

Gotta get on the web site and see if they're coming any where near here..

TTFN, gotta go to work,

Mike

Saw a commercial yesterday for a new YES compilation CD called "Ultimate YES". Picks from a lot of the albums and a few new ones. Anyone get it yet and is it worth it? Considering most of my YES is on cassette any CD might well be worth it.

Only time I saw YES was the "Concert in the Round"? tour back in the late 80's early 90's where they would play on a huge rotating stage, now that was an experience. It was at the Meadowlands Byrne Arena, saw it from the nose-bleed seats in between the clouds of pot that wafted up from the masses below. Coolest part was watching a loooonnnngggggg opposing drum solos by Alan White and the other guy. I can't remember his name. Who the heck was their other drummer?

Come on, help me out. You two old geezers should know.

I have the "Ultimate YES" and it is well worth it. My only gripe about it is that it left IMO there best song off. "Awaken"

The best  YES concert  I have ever been to was a few years ago in  San Jose. The Union Tour. They all Jammed for about four hour's.......... I was in Heven
