Ok, this is about a colour choice.....

Shades of Blue

or

Shades of Green

I refer to my soon to be released Chandley and I was wondering what you guys thought looked best for detailing... You know the sort of thing, up the pylons, around the bridge structure....

The reason I ask is I quite like the green and it's very like the studio Connie (a detailed missed by most) and it makes a nice change to blue....

Any how, what do you reckon

Yes but they pick those colours on the model because they know what they will look like when they put it on film. In the computer game you have to adjust the colour to what it would look like on the screen and not the actual models colours.

I should at this point point out the fact that the studio model has blue colouration and has since prior to the filming of STII:TWOK, the Engineering Green colour it originally possesed was only in TMP, if you're doing the green one then it should also have a pearlescent hull. Which is just silly - they only realised after it was painted how badly it screwed up the camera shots and so before the next film they repainted it to come into line with the Miranda and it's been blue ever since.

And actually the later paint scheme showed up very well in STV and STVI and wasn't that different onscreen as the TMP colours were.

Oh on topic: blue - definetly blue, maybe green for one of the numerous variants.

Will go with the blue.. As an aside, I mentioned on the WIP thread that I was thinking of making the USS Chandley (only, as it the class vessel) as a "Phase II" design....

Why not - should be interesting to see. But which version would you do - the studio model phase II ship; the Ships of the Starfleet 'Constitution Refit' phase II or the Endeavour style that Anduril and TheStressPuppy did which is a mish-mash of the two. Then there's the one from the pre-TMP poster art

Personally, I prefer the Anduril/Stress Puppy version... The only SOSF Connie refit I have is quite an old model and it's taken me this long to do one piece of modelling so I'll probably use the Endeavour as a base for it... It's a excellent model to use so it should be fine if not better sitting with my effort... That said, I have used Khaliban's saucer and nacelles on this one...

May throw some WIP pics out again tomorrow...

Stop teasing us and release the mid-late TMP version please.

As for other variants, I'll take a notched USS Excalibur saucer and warp engine version X-era variant please.
