Early Feedback re: BattleClinic

Here are some quotes from players who've checked out BattleClinic:

Unbelievable! I can set up custom loadouts and print them. Love it.

SghnDubh, I set up my custom loadout then sampled the Officer's skill effects. This should have been in the game, great job.

This site is the best site for tactics and mods that i have found and trust me I have searched around.
The analysis and comparisons section must be checked out if you are serious about the game and the tips allow you to conquer planets in a bird of prey. Don't believe me then check it out!

This site is really inovative. Gives normal players to get a chance to post and share things on a more public level then just by word of mouth on the servers they frequent.

They should put a link to this site in the game.

If you haven't checked, BattleClinic now offers:
  • Real-time posting of your contributions: Tactics, Analysis, Replays, and Loadouts!
  • Weapons damage tables for every race in the Playaid section.
  • Sample the effects that each Officer Skill level has on your ship's statistics.
  • Printable ship configurations.
  • Add your comments to other's configurations. Mark your favorites.
  • All valid loadouts! No "illegal" loadouts permitted.
  • Private-messaging with other members.
  • Race Moderator positions available.
  • Even SFC music and the song-of-the week.

And there's more planned, including dedicated MOD & Script hosting with full support, Server Administrator support, and dynamic damage modeling. Don't worry: No spam, no ads, no email harvesting. Just great support for SFC!

Just a FYI, SFCx posted an announcement on your new site SghnDubh. Sorry it wasn't timed with the actual rollout.

Site looks good but 2 things. 1. dosn't work good in Mozilla, yeah big deal I know, lol! Just a FYI. 2. it's a tad ... uh .. busy? texty? not sure really how to express it (oh and I hate frames but that's not your fault), but the look works for it so again not a big deal.

Great work and kudos to you, Cue and KoraH. Keep it up!

Thanks Castrin.

Your feedback is important and I appreciate your comments. And a public thanks for the link.

That said, I have a confession.

My name is SghnDubh.

<<Group: Hi, SghnDubh.>>

I'm a FrontPage user.

<<Group: Good, SghnDubh, you've taken the first step: Admitting you have a problem.>>

I know. Sob. I've seen the error of my ways.

<<Group: The first step in your 12 step program, SghnDubh, is complete.>>

You...you mean, there's hope? Hope I can find something else?

<<Yes SghnDubh. Download PHP-Nuke today. Or go buy Dreamweaver. Whichever. But leave forever the dusty, dark, demented world of FP frames and silly OLE.>>

Oh joy! Oh rapture! I've seen the light! Thank you, my friends.

And thus, Castrin, the next edition of BattleClinic will be born.

Ok, i have an admission to make.

The not working in Mozilla could well be my fault.

I have checked the site in IE 5.5 & 6. & Opera 7.

I am going now to download Mozilla & Netscape 7. I will see whats wrong and try and implement a fix

Thanks for pointing this out, i shall go into a corner and cry about browser compatibility first.

Dreamweaver (been using it since 1.2) and Homesite. Trust me you'll feel better with yourself in the morning.

First site I ever put up I wrote with Notepad, and it worked! LOL!! Trust me FP is a peice of ... can't say or I'll have to ban myself.

Well don't feel bad Cue. Taldren's splash page is broken in Mozilla also. (note to the Taldren webmaster, FORWARD SLASHES not backward slashes when coding src="" entries.  )

I think you'll find it's more a flash and scripting issue but then I also view site from my linux box and it always renders things screwy being more anal in it's translations and HTML supprt. So don't worry greatly it was more of a FYI.
