Bridge Commander Mode?!

Hey,

For those of you who liked the combat dynamics in Bridge Commander better (/me raises hand) and thinks that the concept of SOVEREIGN AND CUBE UBER WOBBLES is hideous, then perhaps you may try lowering the game speed to 5 or 6. Though this is a major turnoff to arcade gamers and generally people who enjoy Unreal Tournament 2k3,  it makes for a more majestic game, where the space drag forcing your ship to bank is only a MINOR graphical glitch when you consider that a Game Speed 5 phaser blast lasts for 5-7 seconds, just as in Bridge Commander. I can imagine my security officer saying "Falling back for an attack run" as I turn my ship in a 360 degree swing-around for an attack pass. With the game on its default speed 9, he would either have to use greek lettering to denote the tactical move, or use an abbreviation due to the fact that the ship will be nose to nose with the enemy in 3 seconds.

I've never heard a bridge officer in ANY realm of Trek that I enjoy saying "FBFAAR" in the middle of battle, firing hyper-fast phasers and spinning around the ship like a dradle in order to make another pass. Non-borg officers don't think THAT fast. And borg drones don't think.
