If it were that bad it would not be the #1 bestselling XBOX game month after month.

The game is good but if someone is a Ringworld/Niven purist they might get bent out of shape that someone else dared to do something different with a ringworld...

The same elements that make a good game or a good novel don't always make a good movie.

Hoshi: Captain, I finally translated that new message we just received from that alien craft. The translation isn't perfect, but here is what I have on it.

Archer: Just tell me what it is without crying?

Hoshi: It appears they call themselves the Kzin. I believe they are a feline type of race. They would like to send a delegation over to eat with us.

Archer: A feline race? Wow, no threat there. Tucker, we have guests coming over. Meet them at the air lock. Should be fun.

Tucker: Should I have an armed escort just in case?

Archer: Tucker relax. they are a feline race. What could go wrong?
