Tournament Ships in Orion Pirates v2.5.5.2
« on: February 17, 2004, 05:03:54 pm »
Anybody know how I can fight a single player skirmish using the tournament ships in Orion Pirates v2.5.5.2 (latest version)? They are in the shiplist.txt file but I do not see them when I try to customize a skirmish.

Thanks,

Ken

You have two choices -

You can go into the shiplist and change the letter in the Special Role column from T to nothing (or C will work too) or you can connect to multi-player by yourself and set up a skirmish there (its just like a Single Player Skirmish except it takes longer to set up). If you need to know how play multi-player by yourself let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Thanks for the help!

I also had to to change the in service start date to something other than 999.  I changed it to 40 so it would only show up in an Advanced era skirmish.  This seems to have done the trick.

I also changed the Klingon's drone racks from A to B types and added an ADD12.  Not sure why it was the other way before.

You realize you just undid a tournament ship? What's the point if you change the specs?

I only play single player and I did it because it matches the SFB Klingon tourney ship, which most of the other races seem to do pretty faithfully.  The Klingon D7CT seemed kind of weak without these changes.  Since I don't do multi I figured I can do what I want.

I also found an error that the TigerHeart cartel TBR was mistakenly IDed as a second Orion cartel TBR in the default shiplist file.

Does anyone play duels on line with the tournament ships?

If so, has the Klingon D-7CT been found to be balanced with the rest of the field?

Thanks,

I did recently against a F-TCC, was neck to neck until I managed some mizia action and got the upper hand near the end of the battle.
Very fun fight!
