resizing request-Rogue's BCHs
« on: October 11, 2003, 05:25:22 am »
i absolutly love Rogue NineCh's Fed BCHs, but the things keep showing up as gargantuan in OP, about the size of the stock Fed DN. i've tried the model.siz file as suggested in the past, but that didn't seem to have any effect. also, the SFC2ED modeling tool thingy crashes everytime i try to load the .mod for them, so that wasn't any help. even Milkshape crashes when i try to load them (it's a trial version). that's pretty much all i have at my disposal right now, and none of them are doing the job, so i'm sending out a distress call here. i'd just like any one or all of them resized so that the saucer is about the same size as the one on WZ's Connie or Federation.

anybody willing to offer assistance?

Ok, I'll resize them for you.  I made them that way because I thnk they are part of the larger style of ships that were eventually rendered obsolete with the advent of Advanced technology, much like the battleships of WWII.  They are still used, but sparingly.  I'll do that in a day or so, and post them on my site.

Could you make it so they dont crash Milkshape either... Or do you have them in 3DS format????

How is it crashing Milkshape?  I have never used that program so I know nothing about it.  I'll look in my files and see what formats I have the ships in.

If you try to import it then Milkshape just crashes.. Same thing happens with the M6 program too... In fact the only thing it'll open up in is Taldrens MOD viewer...

wow... first off, thank you! it was really unexpected to see this thread again. i'm probably still going to use the larger version of the BCV as a heavy carrier, as it just kinda fits that class, size wise. i just figured, personally, that if they took a base heavy cruiser hull, removed the heavy duty exploration equipment vessels like the enterprise carries, and elongated the secondary hull like on your bch, that they'd get all the extra combat efficiency they could want. like the SFB BCH. with the size you gave it, i didn't feel right using it as anything but a full out BB, stats and all. but i still had to use it somehow, because it's a beauty.

as far as Milkshape goes, i'm not really sure what made it crash. everytime i selected the proper .mod file to import, Milkshape froze up for me. had to ctrl-alt-delete it everytime. don't know if that helps any.

It might be that the ship has too many polys for the m6 or milkshape editor to handle. Just an uneducated guess here
since I don't use those programs.

Nah, M6 crashes with all of Thu11s and Atrahasis' models aswell, except the D10 IIRC...

It's nothing to do with polies in M6 as even Atra's Saladin crashes it whereas WZ's Federation or P81's old Galaxy work fine.
