Hey shadow.

I have a sound blaster extigy that I'm not using anylonger (here are the specs http://www.soundblaster.com/products/extigy/ )

Do you think he would be interested in me sending it to him so he can sell it on Ebay for his mom? They're still going for around 100 bucks retail and support 5.1 surround 24bit audio. Good sound system. I'd be happy to mail him the hardware and software CD's no charge to help out. I would offer to sell it myself, but I dont have an Ebay account.

He probably would. He's been trying to find stuff to sell. Problem is he doesnt have much free time to look for things. You want to send it to the PO Box listed on his mom's site, or do you want me to send you his home addy?

Home addy, I ship through Fedex and they don't allow PO boxes.

You can send it to jsides@cox.net

Bump

May I remind the people that have a little bit to spare, that Talon Claw's wife lost her job on Mar 1st, laid off due to our great economy. Though he has never asked, I'm going to help while I can, as next month is political campaign contribution time to my rep and senator (my senator is at least a good looking older woman   ).

I broke down and had to use the electronic pay thingy (I hate using the net for purchases and transfers of money), but I get to have my name on a site now? At least for a year!   Glad I could help, and good luck reaching that goal, too bad the bad apples of the family did so much damage before they got cut off, don't let this crazy vet near them, I'll go buck wild.

As soon as Scott lets me know the details, I'll put you on the donors page. Do you want to be listed as from Texas or Mexico?

Thank you for donating bro. I have to admit, Taldrenites are a breed apart.

Texas of course! I'm an American and damn proud of it!

Remember, I just visit Mexico for friends and this time was for healthcare as VA really can suck at times, even though they are one of the most efficient departments of our Federal govt. IMHO and experience.

I'll start a healthcare thread later, it's going to make a lot of working class Americans sick to their stomach.

No need to thank me, I get helped by every American whether they want to or not. In my mind I could divide my VA disability compensation into hundreths of a penny from every American. It's only right I should contribute back. Besides, I know all too well what it is like when people do not care, they talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.

What is with calling me Scott? I know I dont suffer from MPD.

Do you guys believe Im Scott? Dang, that would be news to our mothers!

The only reason I can think of that you guys might come to that conclusion is if Scott told you that his first name was also WIlliam. If that's the reason, then ya'll are wrong. See, in our family, 75% of the guys are named William. About as many of the gals are named Mary. It goes back all the way to England when one of our ancestors fought for William I. Since then, there has been at least one William in every generation of our family. Currently, there are about 40 members of my family named William.

Shadow, as you know I went off at the Home Depot in Chihuahua (good thing I did not get arrested) as they have people who do NOT work for Home Depot working the parking lot, wanting to help you load things for some pesos at the last minute. I do not blame them but anyone that is a stranger and gets near me makes me very anxious. Anyways, I got on Home Depot's website to complain since they do not have that BS in the USA stores, and they have a charity section on their homepage. Perhaps you or Scott could take a few moment's and write them explaining the situation and ask if they could help a little bit?

If they need a list of customers who want them to help out, I'll be glad to put my name on it, as I shop Home Depot, Lowe's, Sears, and it's only fair that they contribute a little back to the Americans that support their companies and give Americans jobs! Besides, I got receipts to prove I shop at Home Depot!

Interesting idea. I hadnt heard of that before. Although Sears and Lowes are two of the companies my aunt is trying to pay off. I'll look and see what's involved. Thanks Jack.

Ok guys, Im looking for a little feedback on an idea Ive had. Ive been looking into "cyberbegging" to get a better handle on how I could help Scott and his mom out. Ive noticed on alot of these sites that they have a "store". Usually this is set up at cafepress.com, but when I looked into their pricing, the "store owner" makes little if anything off of the merchandise. Now back along time ago, when I made extra money working flea markets, I had sources for tons of merchandise. Everything from high-end stereo equipment and electronics to novelty gadgets like radiometers.

What do you guys think the chances of success are? I know there are alot of sites selling electronics at cheap prices, but I have access to a large array of items. I can even get a PONG like game kit like the ones we played with as kids. Think the general public would be interested?

I'd be willing to help market the site if that's what your asking. I could spread it around to a few friends etc...

It would be kinda neat to get a Pong kit or something like that.

Thanks Stephen. Thats sorta what I was asking, but I also wanted to know what people on here thought about the chances of its sucess. I know alot of people on here buy and sell online. Do ya'll think there is a market for items like we played with as kids? Things like:

Burp guns- Air pumped "rifle" that shoots ping-pong balls
Robot kits
Radiometer- The little glass ball with a fan inside painted black and white that turns when exposed to the sun
Transistor and diode radio kits
Childrens chemistry sets
The little drinking bird that is filled with red liquid
Growing brains- Drop it in water and it grows to the size of a human brain. Give it to the Dem or Rep in your life
etc etc

Hehe, a few of those I would Diff. Go for . I used to love those little radio kits, Chemistry sets, etc. and alot of us have young children in the house, so I'd say It was a good Venture.
