Well, this is a little bigger than I thought..
I got all the tools together finally to do a release with some oomph this time..
Here's what I did. Both low res and hi res textures are included in the archive. I've included 256s and higher res textures (mostly 1024s) for those with varying system requirements, but the model itself is sitting around 10k polies.. so it's going to need a system with a bit of oomph no matter what.
For this ship, I've gone to a Clickteam install process because it looks damn pretty this way and I want people to really realize that this ship is a release for SFCer's, and is not something released for SFC to be ported into other games like Bridge Commander. There is at *least* five different areas during the install process where it says that if the ship is going to be ported, they need to contact Azel and myself for permission to port. Because I'm getting pretty tired of seeing stuff that I work on getting ripped screaming and fighting out of SFC into BC without anyone even thinking of a "By Your Leave" to those involved with the ship's creation over here.
So if you see this ship suddenly materialize over in BC next week, please ask me if anyone has asked for permission to port and if noone has, you can be damn certain that I'm going to be choked about it.
I'm doing this ship because noone thought that the initial design was plausible and it looked ungainly and ugly. But when I saw Azel's sketch, this ship that I've released is what I saw. This ship is a testbed for a lot of new techniques for me as well, and I think it's one of the prettiest ships that I've released texture-wise.
I'm happy with it, and I think you will be too. That being said.. this is a *big* file, 12MBs for a download.. so if you're on 56k, you're probably going to need a download manager of some form that'll resume downloads if you're bumped off. Even at maximum compression on RAR, the hires textures are still 9MB by *themselves* let alone meshes which come in around 1MB or so a piece. So some time tomorrow evening, I'll do up an archive split into 3 parts for seperate download for the 56kers..
But at any rate, here's the download link..

Hope that you enjoy the ship, and I want this to be totally clear.. this ship is released for all SFCers to enjoy and to play. I'll be converting the ship to SFC 1 and will probably expect that this will make it into SFC 3 as well. But I want this to stay here, for us, to enjoy.
And if someone is going to port it, I want them to ask to do so. Because if/when they do, I'll ask for screenies that I can post over here for everyone to enjoy. Because I don't have (believe it or not) that much of a problem with seeing the stuff that I work on it BC or other games.. but I do like to be told first so that I can swing by where it's getting ported to to see the WIP and final release shots of that work in a new game.
It's like Christmas for me to see a starship I've worked on flying ingame.. even after 200 ships now.
And when it's done without someone asking, it's like getting a lump of coal instead.
