Please Help....
« on: February 16, 2004, 06:42:17 pm »
I'm back in BUG country. I'm trying to install OP for the next RDSL campaign. Problem is: I can't even enter my CD Key. It looks like my keyboard is not responding. I don't understand. Outside the game, everything runs smooth. I tried with a fresh install (no patch) and also with the patch 2.5.5.2 - (with uninstall/re-install each time), it simply doesn't work.

Can anyone help ??
I thought about entering the cdkey in a .ini file in my OP directory or something along that line but I'm not sure wich one would work.

Thanks for reading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS I downloaded RDSL_V1b1.exe, Is it the good one ? Or is there another one? BTW, I didn't installthat just yet so it couldn't be related in any way to my cd key problem.

ill assume you running xp.when your at the screen to enter your cd key hit the  windows key to minimize it and then maximize it.This seems to help me and  may others when this  happens. as for rsdl you need both dl one is like 33mb and one is 5 or so there is also a sl you need to dl.the links are in the d2  part of this forum.

To avoid your keyboard problem (lost focus) find your OP installation directory:
"C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates" is the default...
find the file called "StarFleetOP.exe" - right click and copy it... right click an empty space on the desktop
and "paste shortcut", then run the game from this shortcut... no more loss of focus problems (mostly...)

Don't install RDSL_V1b1.exe to login to RDSL right now...

RDSL is testing on the stock shiplist and NW's OP Core missions currently:
http://www.sfcx.org/downloads/mirrors/NuclearWessels/OPCoreMissions.zip

There may be new files used after the testing so I'd hold off on any other downloads till announced.

Thanks Bonk !

Problem is solved, and I'll be on the lookout for newer/up to date RDSL Files.

RDSL is testing the shiplist now as well...

Install the RDSL_V1b1.exe you have and download and install the V1b-V1c update here:
http://fire.prohosting.com/astinky/RDSL/RDSL_V1c_update.exe
and you should be good to login the current test

For others, if you have not downloaded an installer at all, then just download the latest full installer to login to the test server:
http://fire.prohosting.com/astinky/RDSL/RDSL_V1c.exe
Files may yet change again, as a result of testing... but hopefully not.
