Topic: For those of you looking for a new stereo for your car

As you know I'm in Mexico for some health care and to relax before I register with VA in El Paso and William Beaumont Army MedCen. Dr. Salvador here (Vicky's brother) is a cardiologist and always takes care of me for free except for the EKG, bloodwork, and Chest X-ray that will be done on Sat. I noticed his car did not have a stereo because it was broken. I went to Best Buy in El Paso and bought him an Aiwa CD/FM/AM player to show my gratitude for his kindness. I told the salesperson I did not require installation as it was a gift for someone, and guess what you get if you decline installation? A pair of Pioneer dual cone 100w car speakers for FREE! Cheaper than Wal-Fart and free good speakers to boot! So if you are thinking of buying or want to upgrade, I suggest you call Best Buy and ask about their car audio promotion.

BTW, I saw $200-$500 players that have computer graphics while the music plays, I would never buy something like that as I pay attention to the road, not staring at some stupid computer graphics of cars driving down the road and other programs while I'm driving.

Yes Officer Mats, I did NOT drive in Texas, I only have a couple of months to go before I get my license back, I waited until I got to N.M. where I am legal and crossed the Santa Teresa, N.M. port of entry, then I'm legal to drive in Mexico as well, but I dare not drive in the city because the roads are much more compact than in the U.S. and most Mexicans do not have good manners on the road. It is very scary indeed. Another bad thing here is it takes forever to drive across town, they are just learning to have loops around their cities, something us Americans have had for decades and take for granted.

hehe. I am running a Rockford Fosgate CD/Mp3 player in my car. All I got with it was a remote, for an extra $20. I dont even use the remote that much. I have had the damned thing 2+ years and its still on its first battery.

I do need to pick up some speakers though. going to cost me about $200 to replace my stock speakers, so I dont blow them again, going to cost me about $120 for another 800watt 12" for my box and I need to get 2 copaciters ( $199 each ) and a new amp. I should be pushing 2000watts by the end of the year. Only pushing 1050watts currently.

I just bought a Pioneer head unit (plays CDs/MP3s,etc..) for my Outback recently and it's got just what you're talking about.  You can even creat your own and upload it to the deck.  NICE!


Gotta get some sort of Klingon insignia going...heheh...
