I've been runnign through the old SFC 1 fed campaign, for giggles, and am having difficulty on the mission where you infiltrate an imperial meeting as your extra-dimensional counterpart.  I've already put in the corrected mission script for this, but still have a problem.  Everytime I can beam in my team to collect data easily enough, but they always get caught and I get toasted my the base before I even have a chance to beam my little guys back.  And, of course, I'f I do beam them back, then I've failed the mission because I didn't get the data I needed.  COuld someone give me a synopsis of how I'm suppsed to do this old mission and get through it?

Find a Legendary Security Officer.

I think Captain level requries a Senior, Commodore level a Vet, and nothing short of legendary will work in an Admiral level campaign.

That could be it.  I've been running an admiral level game and been looking for legendary officers as much as I can with no luck.  Hmmm.  wonder why I can't find one,

That5 did the trick.  Afte wandering the galaxy and spending a few hundred prestige points searching the officer pool, I finally got the legendary security officer,a nd made it through the mission.  Many thanks,

IIRC, there is a better chance of picking up Legendary officers on the outskirts of your Empire. Just a tip for the future.
