Is that confusion, adam?

I can see why there are way too many older TV references in this thread to keep track of.

1. In the last episode of ST. Elsewhere, the entire series was revealed to have taken place in the imagination of an autistic boy.

2. In a very sly, but similar, move, the final episode of Newhart had series star Bob Newhart wake up in a perfect re-creation of the bedroom set from his older series, The Bob Newhart Show, next to Suzanne Pleshette, who had played his wife on that older show, revealing that the entire run of Newhart had been nothing but a dream of the character that Bob Newhart had played on the older series.

3. Scott Bakula starred in Quantum Leap, about a scientist named Sam Beckett, who had developed a means to travel through time by having his mind "leap" into someone else's body.

4. Also on Quantum Leap, Bakula was assisted by a hologram projection of a man who had worked on his project named Al. Al was played by Dean Stockwell, who played the jailer who held Captain Archer in his prison while trying to learn what he knew about the Suliban, late in the first season of Enterprise.

I obviously have watched far too much television in my life, since I was wondering when someone would bring up the season-long "dream" of Sue-Ellen Ewing from Dallas, which was used to bring back heroic Bobby Ewing after the show's ratings suffered during the season that he was "dead".

I'm going to go take a sledge hammer to my television now, and curl up with a book for a long- overdue read.

Adam, I'm going for the 'Ignorance is Bliss' apporach rather than going down the 'Techoinformation Overload' road.

There are only TWO (2) Klingon BoP models.

1) The B'rel-class scout (a la STIII:The Search for Spock) at about 150 metres long, crew of 12 with a cargo bay that could be converted to barracks to hold some troops. I actually agree with the SFC3 default armament layout. I call it a frigate and companion vessel to the K't'inga (both are non-SFB ships, same as the Fed NCM, CAI, and BCE). As for all the different names, well, I go for this approach, based of some novels I read. The K-BoP's full designation is the B'rel-class D12 scout (Like the Akif-class D7 battlecruiser, K't'inga-class D7T battlecruiser, etc)

2) The K'vort-class battlecruiser (a la TNG:Yesterday's Enterprise). I played a few SFC3 games of the final battle in that episode - 3 K'vort destroyers against a Galaxy-class, and it worked as a fairly even matchup on default loadouts. Bigger ship, more capable vessel, but still only the size of a Miranda, or Constitution, max. (280 to 300 meters long). No where near the size of a Galaxy-class.

The D7/K't'inga line are battlecruisers in Kirk's era. By Picard's time, what with the Vor'cha-class battlecruiser and Negh'var-class dreadnought, the K't'inga-class D7T is only a light cruiser in terms of firepower, etc.

I liked Quantum Leap, and barely remember watching St. Elsewhere waaay back in my youth. Never heard of the other shows, though.

Yup that makes sense, can anyone explain TNG redemption the epsiode, when the BOP's began firing on Gowrons Vorcha, and it appeared to be a green bolt, almost disruptor like, definitely not a torpedo like a photon, it also appeared to attack the shields evenly, any clues,

Ok put it this way, The only ship's class I know for a fact is the BOP, and even now Im wondering if I might be misinformed so the BOP how many are there
D12
D13
Brel
KVort
DTai
KPak

Then the Ktinga
D7

Vorcha

NeghVar

What are there class specification are all the BOP from D12 to D13 frigates, destroyers, what???

the brel, is it a war destroyer or CL

Kvort is it a CA or BC
Dtai is that a BC or DN

and my fav, the Ktinga is this ship a lightcruiser or a BC or CA  because Uhura says in ST6, klingon battlecruiser off the starboard bow, and the D7????, ohhhh yeah the VorCHa what is this one DN because its so fondly compared to our or the fed ambassador class or its it a BC neghvar and kpak i know of thanks guys

Another thing is I have heard that for instance the ktinga class was once a CA or BC, but because of all the new advances in the Klingon Empire with the Kvort \ Brel \ and Vorcha classes, that because they have new larger ships, that one was renamed to a lightcruiser which does makes sense but if thats the case, please be sure to let me know if it was once a BC or CA and it has now become a CL or etc....., thanks again,

well, that depends on what 'canon' you are talking about....

The TMP episode with the BOP was a frigate by SFB/SFC standards....

FASA had THREE BOP's.... one is a 'scout' (ie Frigate in our terms), another is a cruiser sized hull,  the largest was a 'Frigate' (ie BC sized commando ship)

Not sure on the SFB one... but SFC's IIRC, is a cloaking frigate with a few phasers, amd, and 2 photon tubes.

Well SFB could never do the movie version BOP as their rights stop with the Tech manual and tos shows and animated shows.

But unoficialy its is no more than a fast patrol ship leader or at most the E4 and or maybe the F5 but that would be streching it.

I personally have a LARGE problem with including
the show 'Enterprise' in any discussion of canon.

'Enterprise' is anything but canon.

Thanks,

Dave

I have to agree, Im not saying I dont like it, because I think its a good show, I just dont consider it being Star Trek, I think its just Enterprise another space show, or a different reality because some things are far fetched and sometimes they change certain things but I kind of like the show its interesting

Yep 'Enterprise' can be an enjoyable show, but the only way
it can be explained, is to have it all be in a childs imagination
(ala St. Elsewhere).

Thanks,

Dave

Agreed.  Enterprise is NOT Star Trek.  I think of it as another time line like SFB, but thats about it.  If your going too watch Enterprise, don't think of it as Star Trek at all.

As for the BOP consistancy problems, I never liked how websites try too explain all these different size BOP (some larger then the Ent-D!?!?!).  Paramont just did this because they were too cheap too build a different Klingon ship model so they reused the "overused" BOP model.

As for comparing a BOP too anything close too a SFB ship, my vote goes for the G2 or E3.

lets not forgot how BIG. the Kvort class were. and what episode introduced in. that would TNG Yesterday's Enteprise. where one of the Kvort was nearly as big as a galaxy class. it was referred to as a  3 Kvort Class Battlecruiser's decloaking" by data. not bird of prey. bird of prey= brel.

kvort's wings were fixed in an upward position. could not move up or down.

When did they deside that?, I thought when it first came on Paramount did not consider it canon.

I'm fairly certain they never said such a thing, though I could be wrong.

I'm mostly just reminding folks that not everyone hates the show.

As a matter of fact yes you are right, they did not consider it cannon because the name of the show was Enterprise, than half way thru the first season they changed it to Star Trek Enterprise, so unless they forgot the Star Trek which I doubt, its obvious they considered it non canon

PS I like the show lol, regardless
