SFC 2 EAW questions PYRE Problems redeux

I had problems with the Pyre Mission before withgetting the detonator to blow.  Once again I have the same problem.  The information that i was given seemed to work the 1st time>  I was having problems perhaps related to the 2033 patch but I then patched up to 2036 and it was suggested I reinstall from scratch to eliminate the error. (It was suspected part of the problem was that I patched while playing the game.)   I did do that and patched right up to 2002-2033 as I was up at 2033 when I started and got up to and passed that mission. After adding a new ship and knowing all the problems 2033 had I just decided to start all over again from scratch as with a new mission as should have been in the 1st place.   Something happened recently that made it so that the game kept crashing on start up and we had  no idea why.  it would not clear on restart.  I copied the recent 2036 only games and just reinstalled from scratch and then patched from 2002 to 2036 started playing again.  Actually got some dirrent (storyline/special??) missions that I do not remember from before.  In any event once again I seem to have the lousy Pyre problem. When this mission started it was with 2036 only.  Has anyone else had this problem or know why it occurs?

THis is just for the record I was playing as Federation vs isc

I haven't encountered "Pyre" in my recent review of the game..
.. maybe soon?

Thats odd as I always get it.  But then I recently got missions I never had before like thief in the night for example.  Pyre is the one with the detonator ibeaming it into the Orion moon if that helps.

Apparently I have played this one.
.. Detonator? .. remind me of the mission again? It worked fine at my end with my version compiled for OP.

Hi Sorry about that someone is home now

Anyway it is the mission where you have to get the Orions off a moon by beaming a mineinto an old weapons dump on the plantet.  There seems to be a timing issue after the message confirming that co ordinates for beaming in the mine to the dump have been found and then beaming it in.  It seemed to work when I waited a good 10-15 seconds after receiving the message that the transporter had the co ordinates for it.  Oh and how does one get all the mission medals filled the multi coloured ones middle bar in medals screen?   For when I got up to 2036 patch I had missions I did not get before and from the scripts there are names I do recognize and a few I dont (I have been playing federation) I actually posted about that as well.  Are there any tips or triks  I should about?

Plus how does one make sure they have created a new ship properly?
