Thanks Steve
I'll look into it but, I'm keeping my eye on the other one mainly because it's nearby for me.
I actually get to see the board first (I hope)

check out www.zipzoomfly.com
If that is the motherboard you want it is about $82 and the cpu $90 = $172.
Plus they usually have the best online prices on just about anything to do with computer parts.
And almost everything for sale there has free shipping.

Gigabyte makes fine boards, but you might want to see what kind of price you can get without all that norton crap.

I have been building a machine based on the A7N8X-E Deluxe.  I started it processing SETI last night just after midnight (my time).  It has done 6 WUs with an average time of 2hr 55 minutes with an Athlon XP 2100+, my Athlon XP 2400+ (A7N266 motherboard) takes 2 hrs 50 minutes per WU on average.  I am unsure if the speed advantage is purely the motherboard or is boosted by the HD being ATA133 rather than the A7N266s ATA100.   I hope that when I get the chance to upgrade the ram to DDR400 and put in a 3200+CPU the efficiency is maintained.

Overall I am very pleased with the A7N8X-E Deluxe even though the IEEE 1394 port was left out of the package (I have notifified my dealer and he is trying to see if he can get it for me).  This board has all the bells and whistles, including 2 builtin network cards one of which is a a gigabit card for future speed grades.
