How big of a file are you talking about?

I can probably host it for you, if you can not work out your problems with the ISP

I think its okay for now, I was offered a job at school, so once the chump change starts rolling in, I'll upgrade the site, thanks though I appreciated it ron

As the title states, the textures are ready for download int he texture section, just save the pics, there in jpg form and already names correctly

PS When you save the pictures, instead of rushing and clicking save, theres a menu right below the name, click the arrow down and save it as bmp format, i have no idea whether the game will register the jpg format, I never tried it, just to be on the safe side, for anyone who doesnt know

What it means:
Well the web site might have large amounts of storage space, it has little bandwidth unless you are a paying customer. Bandwidth is used everytime some one (includes you) sees your sight or downloads off your sight. It is the bandwidth that costs money storage space is dirt cheap now adays.

This is why they don't want you to link to a page (like a picture), beause every time some one looks into that thread your limited bandwidth gets used up. Now if you set up a url link then it is only used if they click on the url and go to the page (like I do to get to the download page for my models).

So that free site will probably allow a large amount of storage, but little bandwidth. This will make a paying customer out of you they hope, inorder to have a larger bandwidth. Mackies site does a couple 100 megs of bandwidth a month easy, just for the forums, even more if we upload new ships to it for downloading. Infact he has been accussed of warez trading when I uploaded about 7-8 models in a month because of the bandwidth used. That bandwidth was used for every download, every time a user view a thread with that ship in it (in some cases multiple times for the pic beacuse everyone included the URL in their quotes) went to Mackies site and clicked on the veiw pic option there.

Confused or clearer now?

Storage = Cheap
Bandwidth = expensive

Bandwidth is the thing that always gets used, for every action that site does. Now what they did is place a cap on the Bandwidth you can use in a certain amount of time (usually a month). Once you reach that cap the site goes off line until the time limit hits for that period then the site comes back up automatically.

it means they want money.
You could store up to oh i dunno 10 megs? but there are only so many ppl a month allowed to look at what you have let alone download whats there. bandwidth is the part that costs ping ping . usually they have plenty of storage space.

all their message said was that a certain number of ppl visited your site thus using up your bandwidth for now, you want more upgrade , pay for it prolly.

oh the tricks servers use to make you pay for something they intially offered for free.

Sounds pretty good, as far as it goes. I got tired of the hassle myself, so I paid for a domain name and domain hosting with unlimited bandwidth. Try to find a place that is geared towards businesses...they'll have the best bandwidth options.

depending on your isp you might already have some webspace, as some provide it(IE you already pay for it, they just rarely tell you that part).  though you will probably be limited to anywhere from 5 to 10 mb

That's where my webspace for sigs, avatars, and pics comes from. I even store audio clips there too.

Unfortuneatly, there is no such thing as "unlimited bandwith". Strato, the company who used to host  Ex Astris Scientia, shut down Bernd's site, because it was (and still is) generating 60-80gigs of traffic per month. Fortuneatly, he managed to get a good deal with another provider and has been kicking ever since.

Well, my plan says "unlimited" and I've never had a problem...but then, I don't generate that kind of viewing. If ya want to chk the options, the place I use is  Aplus.net
