Frost Works::New Project for the community!

I said I was going to announce a new project and so I shall ;-)

I have spent the past week getting e-mails from people wanting to work on it, and talking to other groups around the community about this project. When I say the community I do not mean just a single game, I mean all the SFC, Homeworld and BC communities.

And that is the premises of this mod.

The mod will be set in a Future Voyager universe, think 20 years post voyager getting home or so.

The races to be included are the following

Borg, Federation, Romulan, Breen, 8472, Dominion, Klingon and Cardassian.

Option races I am considering are the Sona, the Remans and a brand new race is on the drawing board. Any others will be taken under advisement.

It?s an all out Quadrant Bash. Federation technology has advanced to the point where they are technology superior to every race in the alpha quadrant, the Romulan's have advanced their own stealth technology to unheard of levels, The Borg have Been split into chaos, and a large faction are angry at the Federation for breaking up the collective and finally the Dominion, whilst cut off from the Alpha quadrant, still grew in power on other side of the wormhole and are mounting a new campaign to deal with the new Borg threat and to gain revenge against the traitorous Cardassian Empire.


The Mod will be built using top quality models, and the skills of the best in the business. It will be made and released simultaneously for the Bridge Commander, Star Fleet Command and Homeworld modding formats. With possible conversions, using the STC, to other game formats.

I imagine this mod can be done well within 3 months, if that. The reason for this is because I have gained the support of some of the most experienced modders and modellers in the community. I will be releasing a website for the mod in the next week, which will list the members involved.

I thank you all that are involved now for supporting this project, and those that wish to be involved you are free to do so, you do not have to leave any organisation you are with now, because the community is free and I do not ever wish exclusive membership.

You will be able to pick what you want to work on, and will not be assigned a ship that you do not want to do.

It should be noted that this is the first of several project I have in line for the community...or should I say communities. :-)

p.s. For those people interested on the news on the Special Project we are developing, I would like to point out that progress is being made, and more people are being employed to work on this project. We will be releasing a vast amount of information on the project once we make a little more project, screenshots, renders and lots more. Stay tuned ;-)

It sounds great. Especially the multiple game formats. Seeing how different games can be used for the same project will be very interesting. I'm assuming that you're doing it for sfc3 and combining the races into the 4 slots? OP might be interesting too. Since the borg are fractured, they could be pirates. Possibly...

This is a very ambitions project Ripperman. I will be interested to see if you can get it off the ground and keep it going. Historically these long term cooperative efforts don't survive, but I'll be well pleased if you succeed.

Well most of the project i were involved in were ambitious..its in my nature....The first step ofcourse is to assemble the ships. That is in progress. I feel if the nature of the community is unity, then this mod is possible, if it is not, then unity is not desired. Thanks for ur support ;-) I will be setting up a site soon, there is a forum for now at the frost-works.com forums you can go  here for those. ;-)
