Really small model request here.
« on: February 02, 2004, 07:17:55 pm »
This is kind of a 5 minute job that I'd do myself if I had the skill but don't so - I need an LN-68 warp engine (or more precisely 2, fixed to a Connie refit) made using Wicked Zombie's last Connie refit. Anyone who's seen the SOTSF books will know what I'm on about but for those who don't this is the only picture I'm aware of:

There is also the Sur Cha which is the same as the Raan above except for some weird hull plating on the saucer. The LN-68 is almost identical to the LN-64 used by the Connie refit except that the sides of the nacelle drop down around about where that small circular crystal is on the LN-64. Also the middle bar inbetween the 2 black areas (the bussard collectors IIRC) is angled downwards and extends past the front of the nacelle as you can see in the above schematic.

Could someone make these really simple modifications to the WZ connie refit for me, BTW this'd be for general release - not just a private mod as I'll want to use the nacelles in future kitbashes.

Thanx all, Lestat.

I would If I could but the tmp engines and bridge on fed ships is the parts I cant do quite right, which is why Ive never made a tmp conie. Ive tried I dont know how many times to get the shape only to run into frustration.

I have the Belknap class at Mackies site. This one is very close to it except for the warp engines the front fo them is slightly different as well as a taller bump in the center of them. So the only changes will be in the engines.

the Belknap I have can be found  here.

the orginal version of it can be found at DTWs site (if it is still up)

Right that's great except I already have the Belknap (which is by Atrahasis - he also did the Ascension dreadnought version) - this is not about that. I asked if someone could alter WZ's connie warp engines to match those of the Raan - the pic I posted which have the extension inbetween the bussard collectors and the low cut sides at the front plus it's missing that crystal - whatever purpose it served.

P.S. sorry if thatt came off as insulting I'm very p1ssed off right now about something personal

i have read and i don't think that the see the warp engine, i know that your looking for a decatur/belknap with tease engine like on the drawing, maybe someone will see and make the engine like that.

good luck in having some one doing it.

I couldn't really care less about the Belknap hul TBH all I wanted was the nacelle modifications which are pretty small for an experienced modeler to make. I meant anyone since the last post sorry Don

I'll need the luck round here methinks...

My  Uss Hornet  has those type of warps (erclose) on it if someone has the time they are welcome to bash it up   I could do  a model real easy but geting cannon textures on it i dont have time for

Thanx but the whole point is that at this time I only work on Wicked Zombie's ships for TMP as they are (IMO) the best out there and the meshes are very high poly so the contrast would be very evident with your mesh even if I mapped the WZ textures to it. Really making the mods to the existing mesh would be a smaller job than trying to blend someone elses work to the existing mesh. Thanx though.

If you want Wickedized versions of the LN-68s, then here they be (afterall, who better to modify 'em than your's truly?):

These still need some finalizing as far as smoothing groups and illumination are concerned but they are otherwise done.

On a side note, it's nice to see that someone is kitbashing the new stuff and not the same old inaccurate 3 year old models from the dark ages

Damn! Those are purty!

I wish (*HINT*) that one of the experts would do a tut on those dang TMP nacelles. I made some for my Stargazer, but they are no where near as good as these.

Anyway, as I said before, PURTY!!!

You don't really need a tutorial to create TMP warp engines. You could simply break mine or someone else's down into their basic parts and use them as a 3d reference in making your own. They aren't that difficult to model it just takes a bit of patience in getting the proportions and shapes right.

Woohoo! The best possible response really. Finally some luck after the sh!ttest day ever of my short little life (no joke)

On a side note - Wicked Zombie - I've several pieces of work that I'd like to release soon - an accurised version of your TMP Connie, a green TMP version, an SFB style war destroyer, a light and strike carrier, a drone cruiser and a drone destroyer, oh and an SFB style BC which pretty much just need naming. When I'm done with them may I release them? Cheers once again for making the nacelles and does this mean we'll see your return to SFC modding? (What someone woulda asked it if I hadn't )

Download 'em Here

Yeah, you can release those ships as long as proper credits are listed.
