One thing I would HIGHLY recommend though is putting the proper security on your hub.  You can configure it to require a specific access code (string of characters that it must receive from a wireless card).  If the card doesn't give the code, it won't talk.  If you just leave it open, then anybody and their dog can A) Scam off of your bandwidth to surf the web.  B)  Possibly hack into your PC's on your inhouse network if they are not adequately protected.  This can be a big problem because many people protect their PC's from intruders coming from the internet side.  But allow internal users free access.

I originally bought a D-Link wireless router and a D-Link wireless card.  The laptop kept loosing it's connection all the time.  Very annoying.  Web browsing and downloads would always fail intermittently.  No amount of tweaking or updates fixed this.  So I took both back to Best Buy and bought a Linksys router and card.  I have two laptops working wireless along with all the PCs on my LAN working fantastically.  When Roadrunner was in later to check my wire that got snagged outside they told me I had a nice setup and Linksys was what they were using.

sometimes 2.4ghz phones mess up wireless LAN's.  My grandparents use wireless, and one machine gets punted if the cordless phone is in the room with the wireless machine.

They dont want to upgrade wireless stuff, so they have a cord phone in the office

He'll only be using in on base while he's in Iraq for personal and non-classified information, so hacking isn't exactly at a prime.  He has a classified 'Secret' computer that only used hard connections (wired) in the Access Only portions of the base. Thanks for the advice, I'll ship him one for Valentines Day lol.
