Can anyone tell me how the mauler worked in sfc2op when the game first came out, and what changes are there now in the latest patch

No different. In the interim a fix for something else broke it so that it could be destroyed/H&R. It's been rectified back since.

thanks, now for the next question, my understanding of the mauler is that it gets its power from the battery, and whenever its used, the rate in which it will recharge reflects how much excess power the ship has, the more excess power the faster the recharge rate, reinforcing shields will not allow it to charge correct???

This is my problem, if the AI ship has a mauler in it it only fires it once, after that it doesnt fire it, I think it has to do with the shields being reinforced, for some reason the AI does it automatically, is there anyway to give a ship enough power to use the mauler often, but not allow the power to go into shields or anything else, let me know if anyone understood that, lol I think I didnt understand

From my own observations, as long as you have excess power, and your shield reinforcements are at least 1/4 of their currently set max, the batteries will charge.
You could allocate 8 pts to reinforcements and assuming it's at 2 and building up (you just got shot with a prox or something) you will continue to charge batteries.

Does that speed indicator say what I think it says?

<looks at the pic again>

That thing reads speed 51! Nothin' s'posed to go faster than 31 in OP!

P.S. Nice mauler texture, Adam.
