WOW!

You know... The Roll Bar weapons pod really makes it look the role of a BC.

So what have you done, Fury of a Seraph, have you altered the meshes of these ships to get the Roll Bar? I havent seen them previously with that on them.

Those are VERY cool!  I'll be d/ling them as soon as they are posted!

Great idea putting the rollbar on the excelsior, it really looks like it belongs there.

Fury of a Seraph, was wondering. Would you change the texture mapping of the 2x outside impulse engines on the Excelsior(enterprise) B to shuttlebays instead? Maybe use an are on an existing texture that isnt being used?

I dont know what model u are using, but on Moonrakers Excelsior lookalike Enterprise-B, he uses this: 28ImpEng bitmap for both the inside 2x and outside 2x impulse engines.

I have always wanted to see a shuttle bay there instead. Mainly because the outside impulse engines would burn off the warp nacelles as they are right behind them... Bad design.

Is that canon?

Sandman: Of course you can use these in the Lost Era Mod.
Hardpointing them is gonna be a pain, so dont expect these to come out for a little while.

Dizzy: www.the-tcs.net
Keep in mind they are 1024x1024 Textures, they can be a handful

ALSO
i am also gonna do the Ajax, which is basically the DD version, or a saladin with Excelsior parts. and im gonna do one with a Sensor pod, as on the Pleiades.

that's a weapons pod. The alacrity has a sensor pod and DD already made one from p81's excelcior.

Now am I correct to assume all of these excelciors use the same textures as the ones on mackies site?

Meh ill make an alacrity as well
ill have to show you what i mean by the Excelsior/Saladin thing.

I am using p81's latest Excelsior (even though its about a year old). it has 1024x1024 textures (as apposed to his other ones which use 512x512)

This is the Commendant class command cruiser

Yes this is more compact than the excelsior, the Excelsior is a BC, this is a CA.

I will work on the textures of the pod when i get a chance.

Last addition for the night, unless i get another case of insomnia

This is the Excelsior form of the Mars

This is the Excelsior form of a Fast Heavy Cruiser
This comes in all four forms (Diem, Diem+, Diem2, Diem2+ {Pictured})

This makes 18 Varients (inluding the original 2 excelsior ships) Thus far.
This does NOT include other varients - IE: Mackies' Niskaulikus or Chesterfield.
However, those will be added to the list, Permissions Pending

speaking about the Miranda, I have been looking for an upgraded Miranda TNG, now I have seen the Bassmaster, and its a great ship, but the only problem is that the Bussard collectors are very wierd, theres 2 on each nacelle and it doesnt look so cannon like, I have never seen that before but I could be wrong but is anyone willling to make the Miranda like the Bassmaster in that the ship still has it 4 torpedoe launchers on top and 2 new ones in the forward saucer section, but normal looking engines, please!!! thanks

Should just be able to swap out the nacelles with standard Galaxy Class nacelles and that'll fix 'er up for you.   I remember when I was working on the textures that those are basically Galaxy Class nacelles with modifications.  So swapping out those nacelles with stock Galaxy nacelles will make use of the pre-existing textures that are there so you won't have to re-reg the new nacelles.

Mind you, the Galaxy nacelles usually aren't regged anyways with the stock p81 nacelles, so np either way..

Take a look at the First image in the thread
There are 8 versions of ships that could be considered the excelsior form of the miranda.
The Mckinnley/+/2/2+
the Leavenworth/+/2/2+

How about the ship in your sig,

made into a destroyer?
an Exclesior Saladin if you will . .

roll bar on the saucer "check"
single nacelle . . . .

for a new exclesior style heavy destroyer?
That would be one I would love to see and she would be fine addition to the Fleet!

Not A problem, just seeing if you had a date in mind. I usually do but don't always stay with it depending on available time I have. I also started to redo the Ent-B textures since I have them mostly in parts anyways, I just have to decide what i want the tops of the engines to look like and then a few Light maps to do. I will also do it in two versions (well the textures will be in the zip) I will do one with the 4 engines on the saucer section and one with just two and the outer will be shuttle bays. Should have it all done by Saturday, if iy runs over to Sunday it ain't happening this week because of the super bowl.

Same here, well I had heard that he (P81) had made an Enterprise-B but I have yet to have the good fortune to come across that.  I can't wait for this archive to be up and would love to try some of those Excelsior Vairants.  Though the 1701-B by P81/Knox has been on the top of my wish list esp at the higher resolutions.   Never enough ships though, esp with those variants.  I am really looking forward to doing some major downloading!

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE PLEASE  could you make this model?

NEXUS CLASS-Cruiser
Launch Date:2361
To replace the aging Miranda Class.

Notice the weapon turrets .....

Closer view of the aft weapon turrets

This view shows the Tachyon grid (the wing-like structures on either side of the sensor tower)

The Tachyon Grid enables the Nexus Class to track a cloaked ship in a technique, that was first employed in 2368,required the coordinated effort of 20 Federation ships

And a Mega-Phaser
   PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE.....Ya did ask

Update. All the varients have been made. Now its just a matter of Hardpointing them (in my opinion, its the dullets part) and making the Break Textures.

Current Varients on most ships are as follows

Original -original excelsior parts used
+ - rollbar
2 - ENt-B parts used
2+ - Ent-B parts used, Rollbar
C - secondary impulse engines replaced with carrierbays.
H - More than one torpedo pod added. a bit more rare

Let me know if other varients should be added.

concerning that nebula variant, I would replace those starfleet museum looking guns with modern looking  phaser canons that look like mini-galx canons. As for those rear ones, why not just a dome shaped emitter? Honestly the whole pod looks more like a  a tng soyuz than a miranda that filles a role  the nebula already has and looks no more advanced.  If it's going to be a miranda it should have an akira quantum  pod and a pair of phaser cannons. Get rid of that scientific crap. Surley a high tech mod like that would be put on a heavyier ship such as a neb anyways.

I like the mini galx gun idea and the dual mega phaser idea as well. But think of it this way,the price of building a small heavily armed, cloak detecting ship vs the massive expense and building time for a Neb.But I do see your reasoning. And besides I have this one......
 ODIN CLASS Light cruiser

Mission adjustable pods Sensor and Multi Torps

I like to think of them as Lost Era or early TNG ships. If I could make models or even kitbash I'd already have them in my fleet.
But I can't so I ask nicely and hope one of you great modders will hook me up someday.

On Your page 2 The Ancom and Kirk are pretty awesome,IMHO they are great candidates for the LOST ERA of Star Trek, the narcelles on both are a bit "Boxy" and I'm not sure I like the fact that there is no glow on the Narcelle, only the ram scoop area is lit.It kinda makes that whole area around the scoop and the impulse engines very bright compared to the rest of the ship.I'm sorry I really don't like the narcelles. But I love the ships. The WIPS on that page,I already have ,actually I have 2 versions of each one of them. Not your textures but the ships themselves. They were done by MindBlip way back.I look forward to seeing them with your textures. And I'm really jazzed about the re-texture of moonrakers X Miranda varient. Please release it soon, totally sweet !!!!

I'll be watching the progress on all your ships. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thank you for your reponse on the models, i thought the jtk and the ancom would also fit into the lost era also.  The models where made by Kreeargh so i cant take credit for them two, i do agree with you on the nacels also, i have never really liked them, but cant do much else with them the way the meshes are maid.  I did do a test one with some differnt warp engines on it that i thought made a big differnce to the model. I have also toned down the glows on the model vs what pictures i have of them in game, i need to take new screen shots in game and up date those pictures.

The laxson, starslayer, and the soruun are mind blips ships btw. i found them on his web page and i liked them, and got his okay to retexture them. still have some work to do on a couple of them.

The stargazar not sure if i am going to relase, there are lot of differnt models of that one out there that came out when i was working on it. The drone ship is done, would have to just do a couple little things to upload it to the web

If IF things go good i hope to upload a couple models this weekend not sure where yet, looking at a couple differnt places right now.  Thank you agin for your response.

Since these ships are finally coming to life I thought it would help to have the pictures available on page 1. Bump!
