Shindler's List announced for DVD
« on: January 23, 2004, 01:55:20 am »
This is one of my all-time favorite film. If I had a top ten list (which I don't due to the fact that I am able to like more than just ten movies at a time) this film would always be on it.

One of the few films that can really move me.

There are two scenes I will always remember:

1) A scene where a little jewish girl in a red dress was carted off by nazis to a concentration camp. The only color you see in the scene is her red dress. A little later on you see a cart with dead bodies in it being pulled away...and in the car you see a girl wearing a red dress.

2) The scene where schindler gets out of his car and looks up to see ashes falling from the sky to cover everything....of course it turns out to be from the incenerators burning the bodies night and day.

The bit that gets me is at the end when he realises he could have sold his car to save more lives and they make him that ring out of thier gold fillings with the hebrew inscription 'he who saves one life saves the world entire'

I'm starting to fill up just typing this

I absolutely HATE this movie.

I hate it because it shows in a very good cinematic performance how we treat each other.

I hate it because it shows that in the most dreadful of times, that things can be worse, while people try to make it better.

I hate it because it clearly shows the pain and suffering done.

I hate it because it was historically dismissed by the german people.

I hate it because it can happen again, and has to limited extents.

I hate it because some thing so awful touches me so deeply, and leaves me feeling angry at the ending.

I hate it because I think it should be required viewing in highschool for history.

Because I hate this movie so much  I bought a copy for VHS and view it every month or so, and I will be buying the DVD.

For all that I hate this movie, I have to watch it because it in the best possibly forceful way enacts the worst and best of human nature.

It is my most hated movie that I love to watch.
