Mouse
« on: February 19, 2003, 09:26:49 pm »
I am having a few problems with my mouse.  On the loading screen everything is fine however, once past that into the splash screen my mouse is promptly cut in half.  This is rather annoying as I have to guess where the mouse is pointing.  I formatted my HD 2 days ago, fresh install of SFC and it still messed up.  Unistalled SFC and patch, reinstalled..same thing.  I have raised the refresh rate of my mouse from 100 to 200.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is this just in SFCIII? Could be a video driver problem or maybe a mouse driver problem (though that's less likely)

Yes just SFC3, no problems with Armada2, Rogue Spear, or Sub Command.  These problems were not present before and I've been playing SFC3 for 3 months!

What version of DX? The 9 patch might cause problems for 8.1 maybe?

Same display drivers as before? Any other changes at all?

CyberBear,

If you have a logitech mouse make sure you installed and *activated* the latest drivers. My son was having probs with his and WCIII. I got the latest driver from logitech and all is well now.

Best,

I had similar constant problem with my Logitech Trackman Marble while playing SFC2, and once or twice on SFC3. I have never figured out why it occurs; the only "solution" I've found is not to touch, not even a breath, on the trackball during loading of all the splashscreens. I just "gently" depress the ENTER key to get to the main. IMHO this is just a gremlin with the Logitech add-on software for the scroll-wheel.
