Proximity Photon Torpedoes

In SFC2OP, I wanted to test out the photon torpedoes aboard a Romulan Warbird, for some reason now the photons do not want to fire on proximity, instead they fire on the normal level, I press the proxy button, but it fire normally, any ideas

I don' t think anyone but Feds get to do proxies.

Don't take my word for it, though. I haven't had a chance to play this game in more than a month now.

Hey Adam, I might be wrong on this, but I think its possible that its a bug.  On the other hand, I thought I recall in SFB that Pirates where not allowed too have Proxies or Overloads but I'm not certain on that.  My guess its just a bug in the game that wasn't fixed.

Ah man, I got inspired by nanners sfc3 mod and decided to give rommies photons, and during the tng series and ds9 they did mention that rommies had there photons locked so i did but I cant fire proxies but its kewl the power remains within the klinks and feds and the rommies get to use it but no proxies or overload, its pretty good, thanks though

DH123 had mentioned in one of the D2 threads, that Hydran proxies were broken too. It is a bug, but as it takes user mods to break it, I'm sure it's WAY low on Dave's list (If he hasn't finally closed the book on OP ).

Is this because the GUI does not display the Proximity and Overload settings in the Romulan and Hydran GUI's? Some races cannot use certain weapons or systems because the GUI interface does not support. Those systems with hotkeys, such as deploying NSMs or cloaking are still available through the keyboard though.

Thats what I was thinking, and theres no way access a proxy thru the keyboard, im going to try overloading see if that works, because you can set your weapons to overloading thru the keyboard, thanks guys

There were no limitations on the Photon in SFB, other than the fighter one.  If you had them you could use overloads or proxies.

As for SFC3, if you gave the roms Klingon Photons then they can't do proxies.  If you gave them Fed Photons then that'd be a bug.

It is not a bug but a hardcoded racial feature for the Federation.. other races have their own special weapons which have hardcoded properties... as such there is no game bug but a design decision made by Taldren/Activision during game creation with the final answer lying in Activisions lap...

just letting you know.
