I have now seen a few post where, people have problems with pop-ups doing gameplay or something like that.
Or just plain spyware, in general.

Not long ago a friend of mine, told me to get Spybot, as Ad-aware wasn't too good, at getting everything.

Spybot :

Search for more things.
Do take more time to scan for unwanted things
Have more features (read a lot of them)
It do take a bit to get to know it, but it's still easy to use
Easy updating
Have a big, easy to use ignore lists
Even scans for a few worms/trojans (virus)

Ad-aware :

Is faster, but do a more limited search
Have less features
Very easy to use

Find the cookie's, open them (they should open with wordpad) and copy the url, you'll see some numbers, something like this "618032032002962/taldren.com/454646871146"

Now open your browser and find "protection of personal infomation" (sorry can't remember the english name for it) under fuctions, internetsettings.
Now on the lower part of the page it says Websites hit "edit" or what ever it's called.

On the newly opened page enter the url and click block....

Now the cookie should be blocked in the future.

Just remember many of the tracking cookies have more than one type of url, can be seen when there is more than one cookie of the same name (sorry only one url in each cookie). Also from time to time, they change it, to evade Ad-aware or Spybot.

By the way, I did some testing today and found that Spybot doesn't get every type of spyware, but the ones it doesn't get Ad-aware get, and this also work the other way around. What Ad-aware doesn't get, Spybot does. so having both of them doesn't hurt.

For blocking pop-ups, Pop-Up Stopper works great and is findable at www.download.com and search pop up stopper.

I like The Proxomitron myself. I've not had a single pop up that I didn't want since I got it and it's absolutely tiny. Coupled with the Opera browser I can accept or reject any cookies and such which makes my web browsing spyware free.

I have both, Spybot crush's Ad-aware. BTW why isn't this OT ?

This may sound a bit low tech in comparison but I just delete the crap from the registry and am careful what I download...

I run both ad-aware and spybot frequently. It's a good idea to use both programs, the spyware people frequently change to evade anti-spyware and two companies are less likely to miss the change than one.

Sorry, but I have never had a pop-up during any online game.
You need a firewall.

I use Mozilla as a web browser, so no popups there. Next, I have ZoneAlarm as a firewall, and I have it set to block Internet Explorer (I unblock it for Windows Update). I scan infrequently for spyware using Ad-Aware, because I don't download a lot of programs that might have spyware (i.e. stuff off download.com). Works fine for me.
