I commend your tenacity, and capacity to see life after such failures.

College is definitely a better choice than these "sweat" schools. And better respected in the industry. However, good colleges are no piece of cake either. Often, their standards for completion of each course are a lot higher, so you may find yourself struggling again on subjects you think you already know. Also, most of your credits may not be recognized, so you may have to start nearly at the beginning again.

Hang in there. Perseverance is required everywhere you go.
