TOS Connie SFB CA/CC >>>>> Available for Download

Geez I thought that this would be easy to do - well HA! Still no in-game shots as my hotkeys are completely non functional. I have not tried re-install yet, maybe some brain out there can help me... She really looks awesome in game, esp. if you have a hot gamecard that supports external antialiasing.

OK - Constitution Class with detailed weapons and hull, this is the definitive FCA. Torps on the bottom just the way Scotty likes 'em, ADD, drone launchers and sec hull phasers also added.

I thought the constitution was already released on your site? Are you updating some/all of them or what makes this one different from the Enterprise in your download section?

Hi Starforce
This beauty is the Archernar Class Refit from Franz Josephs Technical manual which is the ship that SFB uses as thier miniature. Great work LS   Thank you so very much

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Wow! An absolutely stunning Connie for Monday!

Now that's how I like to start my week off!

Thank you, Lord Schtupp!

BTW, how much different are the 1024 textures from the 512?

Would they be really noticeable on a high-end machine?

Whoa, as we're nitpicking, this is not the Achernar, the Achernar has the oversized bridge module and rounded B/C decks, the torpedoes mounted on the B/C decks and the hoops on the nacelles (don't know the Techy mumbo-jumbo) are not filled in.

This is a mixture of the Achernar but corrected to have the TOS details (filled hoops, small bridge, teardrop shaped B/C decks and torps on the underside)

Oh and the one on the site has no details that weren't visible in the show (e.g. no weapons or hull plating etc.)

Well you can still read "ENTERPRISE"  on the shuttlebay with the 512 texes, you can really only see a difference if you zoom in halfway or better; so for serious gameplay I would recommend the 512s BUT with the 1024's you might  be able to tell the natural hair color of the Playboy centerfold I used to detail the windows.....

This is not a brag but Im running a 256 Mb asus nvidea card, 21" monitor at 1600x1200 resolution so yea - I can tell the difference.

Good Question: I should have said this earlier...

The two big diffences are detailed weapons and hull details. This one is based on the Tech Manual, (though not religiously) so she would match my other models. The first one I did is meant to replicate the TOS studio model more or less exactly. No weapons or detail that isnt on the studio model.

Thanks for liking the new connie everybody!

@#$&*!

I have a lower end machine, but I want to try and buy a new one sometime this year.

I'll need to check out that centerfold you mentioned someday. Bur I need to know?what are her hobbies? What's her favorite color? Does she want world peace?

This is important information!

I DON'T have a lower end machine but I to have some sluggishesh with too many custom models.   The 'Evil Dave" style missions on most D2s these days have many ships on the board and sometimes my Pentium IV/Radeon 8500 struggles.

This all changes after i down-sampled all of the bitmaps to 8 bit color.

Hmm so why is it that when I convert to 8 bit color the game errors out on gamestart? - If it didnt do this then I would also convert all my bitmaps to 8 bit. I convert my illumination maps to greyscale from rgb before saving so they are 8 bit right?

hmmmmmmmm....

The ship is totally sweet BTW, a little... red but cool none the less. I have only 2 questions:

1. WTF is that little circular protrusion just underneath the impulse engines - it's on the Pegasus aswell.

2. Does this mean We'll see updated versions of your other ships with the kick-arse weathering? (Saladin, Surya, Federation and Ptolemy) A lot of the work is already done from the Pegasus.

What do you mean a little red?

1. That is the rotary ADD launcher. Although I had assigned the hardpoint to it on the pegasus, the game seems to ignore HPs assignments for ADD fire.

2. Yes.

Wow!  That looks really great!

I do have a minor nit-pick, though...

I like to play with heavy magnification so I can see the beauty of the work and those spherical thing-a-muh-jigs on the end of the warp nacelles really detract because they're so clearly (even without mag.) faceted.  Any plans to round them out a bit more?

Beyond that minor detail, just absolutely stunning work!

Wow! Awesome as usual......one minor problem--The saucer reads NCC-1017(as it should) on Constellation textures but the nacelles read NCC-1071  (oops).
Still checking windows for the centerfold...

I really appreiciate all quibbles, nitpicks, and corrections.

 USS Constellation 1024 textures only
 USS Constellation 512 textures only

As for the centerfold I had to - ummm-  "distort" her quite a bit to get the right "effect". Oh she's actually from Penthouse, not Playboy, so that might be throwing you off...

Ah geez... I guess this means that I need to kitbash up another bent Connie for the Doomsday scenario based on the new Constellation.. (whine).

The tough part will be painting on one of those red Yeoman outfits on that Penthouse centerfold... (sigh).  Why do you torment me so?  (grin)

I think Vampire Lestat is probably refering to the red weathering off the back of the Command Module atop the Primary Hull... Not that it doesn't look great but I did think "why red??" when I first saw it...

That said though... A truly magnificent ship...

You know, I'd never noticed it before.. I just popped the textures out and dropped them with the mesh to get the new work done..

Quote:

Not needed... I saved my previous work as a .PSP, so all I had to do was drop in the new textures to apply the burned-ded up areas.

Matter of fact, I can show you how the new textures look on the old mesh..

Now it's just adjusting the illumination textures to match, and then bending up the mesh to match v1...

That looks so cool but could you do one with NCC-1710 as the registry of the Constellation to match the list in the Starfleet Museum, I know it's not difficult to make the registry but I wouldn't be able to add the burnt up and cracked bits on top of the lettering without your original photoshop (or whatever program you use) files.

As soon as his Lordship releases the blanks for the new version textures, I could do one on the new textures.. or I can use the old ones that look more like the show and do them right away.  Either or,  just let me know which you'd like..

Or conversely, if you ask, I'm sure that LS would be happy to do the changed registry for you.. and then I can apply the red hot poker and vice grips to them to mangle them up.

First of all thanks Chris and everyone you rock

Second I am color correcting these and the other textures as I looks like I made to much use of red streaking/weathering and I now see that this give too strong a red cast to the model as indicated by the sharp eye of Vampire Lestat.

Third, everybody has blanket permission to kitbash and release on other sites, just drop me a line and include credits in a readme file with the model

Well as somebody had pointed out, there is a problem with the mod file: part of the warp engine has inverted faces. There is also a problem with the Pegasus. So I will fix those and upload the whole kit-n-kaboodle this weekend. Its very difficult to do any modeling during the week for me...

Stay tuned ....
