Indeed RJ!

I'm in the odd predicament of living in Philadelphia after being born and raised in Indiana.

Yep.  Hsta the Hydran is a Hoosier.

It is a profound understatement to say that it just isn't healthy to be a Pacers and Colts fan here in the city of "brotherly love."

In fact, I was kidding around in the lunch room the other day about wearing one of my Colts shirts in to work after the Eagles lose the Superbowl to my home team when our director of personnel said (with a perfectly straight face), "I wouldn't do that... we don't pay life insurance benefits to families of people that commit premeditated suicide."

Yeah, I can just see the police showing up at my front door now....  "I'm sorry Mrs. Hsta, but a terrible accident happened while your husband was walking down Market Street this morning.  Apparently he was accidently ran over while walking along the sidewalk by a minivan, an SUV, two cabs, a cheese steak vendor, and a city bus... we would have loved to press charges, but, after seeing his shirt, we regret to say your corn-fed punk of a Colts fan husband had it coming.  Here is our bill for cleaning up the mess."

Heh.  Yeah.  I can see that.

I have tremendous respect for him as a player, and a definate hall of famer.   I feel sorry about him loosing his dad, but I was sick of hearing about the Packers being a team of destiny and Favre winning a Super Bowl for his dad.  He did already win a Super Bowl when his dad was alive.  I wish him the best, but I usually don't root for a team to win a second Super Bowl before a team wins their first.

...

I was praying that GreenBay would punt the ball, instead of going for it on 4th and 1, and I got my wish (I don't think the Eagles would have stopped him, no matter how good they've been this season at stopping 4th and 1 plays).

Anyway, I look forward to playing Carolina next week.  No matter how good they are, I am definately not as worried as I was facing the Packers.

As a Packer fan I have to say that whole "destiny" thing was a media construct. For a very long time this season, most of us just hoped to have a winning record. Stupid losses against teams that rightfully we should have beaten and early mistakes by the entire receiving core just about scotched our playoff hopes. It was only till the end, with a solid run attack that we swung the ballance ... and even then it was almost too late.

The "destiny" crud started right after the Cardinals did to the Vikings the same they did to us earlier in the season. In the process they boosted us into the playoffs and thus the whole "destiny" thing was picked up by the talking heads in the pregame / halftime shows.

*sigh*

As for that 4th and 1 call, well Sherman explained the call and to be honest it was a resonable call. Remember, after that punt the D stood up and forced the Eagles into a 4th and 26 ... I mean come on! You really don't get better than that for a Defensive stand! But kudos to MacNabb and co, they made the conversion despite huge odds against it.

Good luck Eagles, it was one hell of a game and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Well, I'm actually a Tennessee Titans fan. Peyton Manning was perhaps the best QB the Tennessee Volunteers (NCAA Football) had in many years, and I've been following his NFL carreer. I'd like to see Manning to win a Super Bowl, not so much the Colts. Teamwise, I would rather the Titans had made it (if only Dyson hadn't dropped that pass in the last minutes of the AFC playoffs...).

If the Colts lose tomorrow, I'll happily cheer on the Eagles in their bid for the Super Bowl. If the Eagles lose, then go Carolina! Just so as the Patriots get their a**es handed to them, I'm a happy camper.

Ditto.

Go Panthers & Colts!

I'm also routing for Dungy to win it all since he got screwed by the Glazers. I was happy for Gruden coming to Tampa last year BUT it was totally classless how Dungy got the shaft.

Ditto?

Because of some stupid things said by the media that does not reflect the oppinion of the majority of the fans or players?

I like Dungy, and I've wished for him to win in every game that doesn't involve the Eagles since he has joined the Colts.  Of course, I like him a lot better than Gruden because he never beat us in the playoffs

I'm sure the Eagles would have won had McNabb been healthy (even with all the other injuries).

But I'm not optomistic about next year, considering the Eagles free agent policy.  I wouldn't be suprised if they let go Duce Staley, Troy Vincent, and Bobby Taylor.  I really think they should keep all those players, and, instead, try and get some wide recievers who don't suck.

Perhaps it would be best to not insult the dead in the Philly media next time.

One very happy Packer fan.

Go Panthers!

The Eagles beat the Packers in overtime and nobody watched it???

Oh well, I think it was a great game to watch, and I'll be looking forward to playing the Carolina Panthers next week.

The best thing was the pre game skit where they had Mcnabb beat the crap out of Rush.  That was so cool.

Yeah that was funny, glad to see the fine publications in Philly have decided to take the "high road".

Perhaps they can find some terminally ill people to make fun of next.

Well I will admit mistakes were made by green bay... but it would have been nice to at least "measured" or "reviewed the 4th and 26th play instead of allowing a flag, on the defense.  The spot was about 2 -3 yards off...  oh well.  It will be nice to see Carolina make the superbowl.

I don't usually read the Daily News, so I guess I missed that.  On the other hand, the Media isn't the team.  I haven't listened to Sports Radio this morning, but last night I didn't hear anyone talking badly about Favre.

About the game itself.  I definately wasn't feeling confident when the Eagles were down 14 nothing and Akers missed a Field goal (which he almost never does).  I think the spot was off by a few yards, but when I saw the play, I thought it was a first down if the refs spotted it correctly (they didn't spot it correctly, but they moved it to a spot that had no question of being a first down, so I didn't complain too much).  Then again, I don't think the previous play should have been blown dead, and it wouldn't have been a 4th and 26 play.

I was praying that GreenBay would punt the ball, instead of going for it on 4th and 1, and I got my wish (I don't think the Eagles would have stopped him, no matter how good they've been this season at stopping 4th and 1 plays).
