Some New Rom/Reman WIPS
« on: January 09, 2004, 07:55:42 pm »
Hi folks, back from a hellish week in Livingston - I was on the verge of homicide with the level of sheer incompetence I experienced - but I'll not bore you with the details    !

Anyway, to help de-stress, I present to you the following:

http://majorracal.tripod.com/aquila.html
http://majorracal.tripod.com/corvus.html
http://majorracal.tripod.com/lanner.html

Sadly, after getting this far with the Lanner, I accidentally wiped the file and can't get her back - so I'll have to create her again (I'm sure it was the result of the aggravation still pervading me from Livingston!!)

Anyway, hope you like them!

Strange designs for Romulan and Reman ships, the most have that Slipstreeam design look, or are those capable of landing on planets ??

I don't think they look  that  strange for Rom/Rem ships... In keeping with the generally ascribed Romulan easthetic, they are based on aviaform.  I personally feel that the severe lack of source material sometimes limits the scope of what's possible and perceived convention hampers creativity - does no-one else agree?

Apart from the fact they both have warp engines, can anyone honestly see a correlation between the original BOP and the Warbird?  Time gap aside,  they are  so  radically different it's hard to see how they could come from the same Empire.  Is it not within the realms of reason to believe this could indicate that there is a very broad scope for variation within their design conventions?

As for surface landing, I like the idea, but I'll admit it wasn't a consideration - I think Heavy Cruisers and Dreadnaughts would be too large - the hulls are actually shaped to accommodate hangar bays for the contingent of fighters they're intended to carry...

Any other feedback is welcome!!

Very nice. As a long time Romulan player I would love to fly these.
