I would like to point out that games will ONLY USE 1 PROCESSOR UNLESS SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN TO USE MORE!!!

True.  But then again the other programs you may have running don't slow you down as much because they can run on the other CPU.  For example your firewall, comms program etc.  Not to mention that most crashes that lock up a single CPU computer can be handled without rebooting because the OS using the other CPU can stop the program that has locked one CPU up tight.  So dual CPUs do help even with programs not optimized for them.

Also as games programers adapt to the P4s hyper threading the extra threads can be run on the 2nd CPU and or the hyperthreading module or both depending on how many threads they add.

I might also point out that clock speed doesn't really mean as much as it used to, when comparing Athlon XP's with Pentium 4's.

I disagree....espically when a 2GHz Athlon XP can kick the snot out of a 3GHz P4

The problem with the poll is that I have more than one computer with more than just one processor (I have both Intel and AMD machines as well as Ati machines and Nvidia machines available...so it was rather hard to put down what I should...I'll also put down another poll).

The polls can't be all inclusive.  I myself have 3 machine (and expect to soon have a 4th for a few months), 2  are dual processors.  The Duals both have ATI video cards and the single CPU has integrated nVidia nForce2.  Use your best machine to answer.

Well, I responded to this poll.. but you can't tell what i have actually.. so i will list my system specs here.

here are my system specs for my laptop

Toshiba Satellite 5205-s705

Pentium P-IV 2.4Ghz Mobile
1 Gig PC 2100 DDR Ram
750MHZ FBS Motherboard
Geforce FX go5600 w/ 64 MB DDR PC 2100 ram
Yahama AC-XG Dolby Digital 6.1 Surround, THX / SRS Certified
Harmon / Kardon Dolby Digital 6.1 speakers (2) with subwoofer (1) built in
15" Diagonal viewable 1600x1200 res monitor with Clear Advanced Super View UXGA Display
OS : Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition
TV Tuner Card
DVD / CD Burner (DVD-ROM Drive, DVD -r/rw / cd -r/rw burning)
Media Center Remote Control w/ Cable Box Override interface
60 GB HDD @ 5200 RPM
Integrated 802.11b Wireless lan
I.Link (IEEE 1392) Port and SD slot
Canon BJC-85 mobile Color, Photo Capable Printer
Touchpad Mouse w/ scroll wheel
Several TV out / TV in... RCA Audio IN / OUT .. Conitor Out ports
v.92 56K modem
10/100 Ethernet lan card integrated..
3 HR battery pack

the nice thing about this machine is that the picture is clearer than any monitor or TV on the market today.. you can see this model's predicessor at Comp USA for sale @ $1400... the predicessor to this machine is the Satellite 5205-s119.. the difference is the OS (XP Home), TV Tuner (not installed), Remote Package (Media Center Components so not included with OS), slower CPU (2.0 GHZ)

the rest of the machine is the same.. however, they only come with 512 MB PC 2100 DDR Ram.. I upgraded mine to 1 GIG...

It works flawlessly with all games with exception to Edios games.. they do not support Laptop Keyboards, and as such, their games don't work correctly... but no problems with SFC (I, II: EAW, II: OP, III: TNG), Freespace, RTCW-GOTY, Max Payne 1 & 2, Siberia, NWN with both expansions, Armada 1 @ 2, Klingon Honor Guard, EF 1 and II, The Hulk, Spiderman, Wolverine's Revenge, FA-18, Tron 2.0, Mistmare, Splinter Cell, and many Many Console emmulator ROMs... and a boxfull of other games that I don't have time to list...

this is my primary system since i am on the road a lot.. I paid $2550 (Tax inclusive) for it the day it went on the market (shelf cost was $2850 + Tax but got business discount at Comp USA).
