« on: January 02, 2004, 01:10:56 pm »
I was wondering when in dyna, why is it so hard to connect with other when going into battle? I frezze up everything time i go into battle with 4 or more players, if it is even 2, 4, 6 players. Ive connected fine with others in IP,TCP so i have no idea why this is happenned, it really takes the fun out of trying to battle real people?Just to let you knwo iam on High speed not Dial up! If thier is in some way to fix this it would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try using different hosts.  It also depends on net loading.  There have been times that I could carry 5 people (1 at 56K) into a base assault and other times I couldn't get a 1v1 going.  It's hit or miss.

You know, Acid, we appreciate your thinking so highly of us--even embuing us with telepathic powers. But I'm sorry to report, contrary to popular myth our crystal ball is broken. It saddens me too.

So, while we wait for the repairman do you mind sharing with us which SFC title you're having troubles with? We can then direct you to the proper forum that may have information on a fix for your problem without delay?

Best,
Jerry

I believe hes talking about them all... and i have often wondered this... there is almost no wait in connection on IP or even GSA, but in the Dyna, it takes about a min to connect... more if there are more people...

I'm not sure that a "wait of almost a minute" equates to a screen freeze.

Btw, after playing SFCII, OP, and III on GSA I find it difficult to believe you've never experiened a lost connection, delayed launch, or worse, a CTD while playing through their service. They provide a good service, but no way is it full proof...err...I mean error proof.

Best,
Jerry

You know, this misperception of GSA has got to stop. GSA is no more than a matching service. Once the game launches they have nothing to do with it at all. If you or others crash it is due to something with your/their system/connection and not GSA. The same is true for a Dyna server, only since you must be connected to the server, then connect with others trying to draft you (or you them) and then come back and report to the server, it can cause load up problems that cause people to drop or get out of sync. Most people's problems (I've found) come from having too much running in the background (I don't care how "uber" your system is) like antivirus software or any other program that is designed to scan or sweep your system occasionally. SFC (all versions) really hates those types of programs. My advice to you is to turn off everything you don't need to run your system (Explorer and Systray are the only things really needed),  get on the internet and play the game. See if you still experience problems. All it takes is one person to have a shaky set up and it can crash often.
