Making room

I noticed that SFC OP and SFC 3 both have some humongous zip files like SFCSounds.zip etc.  This seems rather wastefull as I need hard drive space.  Can I remove these files and still get game functionality?  One of em is a whopping 331 mb.

If you remove those .zips, you lose sound, voices, music depending which you delete and the prog. may not run...

You can.

in fact, when you install the game, there are options (minimal/no sound etc.) that won't even install the file.

However, if you were thinking about deleting one and use the other one to double for both OP and SFC3, then I don't think it will work. Considering 3 and Op are much different...

I hear ya with the space making!

Here's what I've found-
EAW and OP- I deleted the music zip files no probs. I haven't tried any other sound files, just because I rather think I need them lol. However, you can delete the movie files (all 3 versions) with no trouble- they're pretty big too. I've found I can't delete the sound files in #3- wish I could, but it won't work!
To experiment, try removing the sound file from its parent folder to the desktop. Run the game, if it works, then you can delete it   If not, put it back where it came from.

On a further note, try a junk file remover application. You won't believe how junk accumulates! I recommend HDValet- I've had no troubles with it. You'll have to search a bit for it, but it's worth the trouble.

Good luck Ron!

You may want to just add another hard drive to the system Rondo. If you can afford the money 40 gig drives are very inexpensive now.
