Frost-Works.com - Major Announcements (as promised ;-) )
« on: February 15, 2003, 10:50:28 pm »
Hello everyone! Quite alot of you looked over my last post and it stretched to two pages :-D thank you for your input everyone.

First as I would like to announce that joining of two new members, and a modding team.

Both Skinman and Lord Schtupp have requested to join and I have of course said yes. They are both eagerly working on new websites and should both be presentable shortly! I look forward to being able to show off what these guys do best ;-)

I have been talking to Dolphoenix of the  Hiigara Planetia  Homeworld modding group. They have been responsible for many of the greatest and well known Homeworld mods to date and have been given membership with  Frost-Works.  This brings frost-works to the trek communities of Homeworld, Bridge Commander and Star Fleet Command! Unifying the community has never seemed so possible and I thank Dolphoenix and his team for having a great vision. I look forward to working with the team on several projects this year, some of which I will be announcing this and in the following weeks.

Second on to mods and projects

I promised more information on mods and projects and I have been asking the members for their input.

Lord Bile has informed me he will be starting a new version of the well loved B?lorions! These hulking masses of ships are scary as hell, and are well deserving of a refit! Be sure to check his site,  Dark Realm Studios , for updates. Chris Jones is making progress on the  TNG MEGA MOD , Pneumonic81 is developing a new line of TMP ships, which you can follow the progress at the  forums . Hollis J Wood has showed me a few more of his beutiful wallpapers and i will be adding them to his star trek gallery soon :-) i added the newest stuff at the end! so check out  Wraith Works  for that.

As for as information on ?special projects? I am indeed inviting members to work on a commercial project. Details about this project will be released when we have more to show, but for now rest assured it?s an original space sim game and is looking great!  A website will be constructed shortly in the meanwhile keep a look out for news announcements and screenshots :-) If you feel you have something to offer don?t hesitate to e-mail  jobs@frost-works.com  with what you want a short resume and your welcome to include examples of work.

I am making plans to start work on an exciting new mod for the community. This mod will be unlike anything seen before, and have that special something which makes things great. More information coming soon!

Lastly I would like to talk about the eagerly talked about STC, or Star Trek Conversions website. It was initially designated as a site for members of the community to gain help converting their mods across, I have had some intriguing conversations and a new member or two will be joining this sub group in the next week and I have asked for more tutorials! I have also made the decisions to turn the STC into not only the best and only Conversions website around, but into a decent ?hot to mod? tutorials area as well. The experts at frost-works will be telling you how its done, keep checking the STC for more information.

As you can see I have been busy!

Hope you Enjoy!

That sounds really great Ripperman! I have been telling everyone in the Armada 2 community about this as well.
Westworld told me he was aware of your efforts. I think his website at www.navalarmada.com would be a great addition to Frost Works as a show case site.

For those who dont know.
He has totally redesigned Armada 2 from a space-based Star Trek game to a modern day naval combat simulation!!!!

And I also support your efforts at bringing in new tutorials for getting new blood (newbies) to join up and get involved.
Thats what keeps the communities alive with new ideas!!!

Thank you Rip!

Hehe there are soem big contrasts between Apoc and Frost-Works... for instance i do not want to control what our members do, hence the fact they can remain hosted with whoever. I just want to promote them and give the opportunities that have not been available till now :-) but thank you for the complement hehe.

The offer of promotion remains open.

As far as Armada i will be going to that community and others this week.

The offer is for everyone, so they only need to ask, and we can talk.
