I did these new Photon Torpedo textures based on Kt'Hyla's Klingon Academy Photon Torpedo pack. Kt'Hyla was gracious enough to allow these to be converted to SFC. They come in standard and Heavy versions:

Looks Great. Does some one have the "pop sizzle" sound effect of the old ST arcade game that came out just after ST:TMP came out?

Rod did you not at one time have alternate sound mod for the weapons from SFCI days? From modders long gon from the scene here?

I'm not sure what you are looking for. I have SFC1 on my PC. If the sound files from it work in SFC2 I can pull a file and send it to you. I have the "Reign1 and Reign2 zips, from WZ's old site (OSF), and A few of Chris Jones' older mods on disc that have custom sound files. If you recognise something that I have that you want, let me know.

Reign was one of a number of modders who did sound mods. I'm looking for the "pop! sizzle!" photon noise from the old arcade cockpit type star trek game. I'm sure someone sampled it and made it an in game sound mod. I wish those folks still hung around. I could search for wave files in the old days and change them myself but with the corporate suits shutting down such sites left and right there are not many to choose from now.

Not a problem Atheorhaven. That would be nice actually. Please include a read me with the file crediting Kt'Hyla with these New Photon Torpedo textures.

Stormbringer, have you tried the "samples" section of mame.net? (MAME = Multi Arcade Machine Emulator)

The sound you're looking for is "trek2.wav" in "startrek.zip".

Well that's it. It does not sound as robust as I remember from the arcade days. perhaps i can use this as a template to recreate the sound as I remember it. The opening pop is weak and does not have the proper tone or harmonics but the sizzle part is close. What are the capabilities of some free sound editors? any out there that can alter a sound as my prior information would indicate is needed here? What I want is a launching pop! and a screaming sizzle as the torp flies down range.

Help! I'm trying to install the red version (top pic), but ingame there's no actual photon graphic, just the firing sound and the impact flash...

Replaced Photons-2.bmp in the textures section w/ the new .bmp named same.
