Thanks for all the replys.  As it turns out,  I needed to change my resolution to 1162X864.  Doh!  Its an Nvidia geforce2MX.  I did not know higher grade vid cards had there own fans until Santa dropped this in my lap.  It's nice.  Now all I have to do is figure out how to get around the firewall error I get trying to access Dynaverse and all will be awsome.  Thanks again

grin. Had that problem. Have three Cambridge soundworks 8in. sub woofers in between the monitor and Desktop. Couldn't figure why my Computer kept shuting off. Da!!! turn the sound down. The Plug in the wall kept rattling out of the wall socket.   ( a little space and air exchange does wonders.)

New vid card question?

Just installed an Nvida 64meg video card and it appears to be working.  I feel real dumb because this happened the last time I upgraged,  but I lost my task bar.  Using WindozeXP(home, uggh). Thanks in advance.

Doh!
Yea,  how the heck do I get my task bar to come to life?  It seems to have disappeared altogether. Thanks again.

You didnt hide the taskbar by any chance did ya?

Well if you did, right click the area where the taskbar used to be, hit "properties", and then uncheck the "Auto-hide taskbar" option

Did you install the right and most current Driver?

 (don't ask. )

Do you (like me) have two Video Cards. I forgot that I had left the video plug in the nvidia tnt2 spot. And updated the driver. And went nuts trying to figure why it wasn't working.

Also Nvidia has a Graphics option to hide the taskbar. You might want to check there as well.

Grim, I do not know much about P/Cs, but MS is right, NVIDIA has a LOT of latest drivers, and they do make a heck of a difference, I downloaded the one for mine even though my card is 2 years old, and I must say that I was impressed!

As people have already stated...make sure that you didn't hide your taskbar.

Even more so, make sure that you didn't accidently make the taskbar a oneliner (make it small) hence hiding it yourself without any defaults...and also make sure that you didn't accidentally move it (I've done that before).
