Just a note to Magnum:
Pelican is currently rebuilding Dominion Wars in order to achieve an even better balance. Who knows if he will succeed, but I await the results eagerly!

each mod is a work of art which is constantly in motion. i personally cant wait to see pelican's new mod. his is the oldest and perhaps most tested of any of the mods out there. people should always give each mod a look - because they are all different!

hm. dunno about the high poly. i think the issue is skins. what i (and others) have done to decrease the load and download time is shrik the skin to 256x256 8 bit. there might be different versions with 512 or 1024x though.

hmmm what would happen if I was to redo the skins with a 512x512, would it turn back to the orignal, or would it look more blurry

if you found the orginal, it would be more sharp. if you took a 256 and made it 512, it would be more blurry.

I would like to offer my official endorsement of the next installment of the SFC3 Generations Mod. From talking to Nanner on the phone I can say you will like the way this mod comes out.  The attention to the smallest of details will have your jaw dropping for sure.

I currently don't have any SFC installed on my PC as I have been slammed with BC work of late - Multiplayer maps n things, which is going very well I might add. Look at BC Files.

I still plan a TNG mod for OP update - if and when time allows.

Edit:

SFC2, OP, and 3 installed again  Multiple versions of 3. Got my Mod on one - waiting for Nanner's new thing for the other.
Now I need one for Pelican's, too - lol. OP(2552) is TNG - which is great with Firesoul's co-op ace additions and for my son and I to play LAN games. SFC2 2036 in case I run into and old STOC fleet person who wants to play. No mods on SFC2 for now.

(Bought myself a 120 gig HD for Christmas - I deserved it. haha.)

With SFC1 I get slide show activity when any audio is present. Never did figure out why. It must be an NT thing as I have XP. I do know that SFC1 and NT don't get along too well.

Been testing on the Generations server.

I must say that it will be a real eye opener for SFC3 players.

Attention to details is very high for everything from ship loadout masses, available weapons, ship bitmaps, ship variants on hulls, right down to the music.

New race hulls have been added that would interest SFC2 players.  All in all I think it will be a very interesting and fun mod to play.

Hey Nanner Slug, any estimation of how big your mode might be?  I think I'm going too go too my buddies place to get a copy of your mod too because I keep hearing my Dominion War Mode is outdated (version 4.3.1 vesus 4.3.4).  And I must admit, your mod does sound interesting.

it will probably be between 160-170 mb. however i will also be split into 25 mb slices for those who are dial up (like my dad - but he gets a burned CD from me. hehe).

hope that answers your question! i am hoping to have a 1.0 release out soon. thanks to people like toten it is going to make bugs easier to squash.
