Question about 2.0.3.6
« on: January 19, 2003, 08:34:40 pm »
OK, I hadn't played a lot of D2 the past few months - which means not much time at all spent using version 2.0.3.6

Did the patch add some new crashes?

On a clean, stock,  install->patch, I seem to be running into intermittent crashes when moving around the map.  So now (joy of joys) I'm trying to figure out if it's related to the patch or one of the other zillion things I've done to my system since October.

thanks!

2036 runs great for me, a lot less problems than 2033.

During AOTK, the 2036 patch seemed pretty stable, certainly there were no reports of any new bugs introduced.

If it was while playing on "The Wheel" it may have been due to the
IRC server that was being used. (The same one that gave DarkElf
some trouble during the SQL testing)  It's was giving me periodic CTDs
too. I think he worked out a fix for it, but I'm not sure -  so I have returned
to using peerchat.gamespy.com. That should stabilise things.
(though it irritates the heck out of me when it goes down...)

Thanks guys,

turns out (I think) it was just a screwed install.
Gave up, uninstalled, reinstalled, and everything seems happy
