A big departure for me...

This is not a Trek ship, nor is it from any other established sci-fi. This is a battleship for an alien race I invented called the Na'Xhol'Gahrii. The Na'Xhol'Gahrii(NXG for short) are an incredibly advanced and ancient race, with a particular talent for a science known as fractal genetics, which lets them "design" new lifeforms from nothing. This ship is known as the Tempest-class. I haven't pinned down an exact size measurement yet for this beast, but I estimate it's somewhere in the neighborhood of nine miles long. It's huge. It uses a series of microscopic black holes as a power source, and its primary weapons are line guns, a gravity-based weapon. It's also armed with a massive cannon that draws unbelievable amounts of energy from another universe and projects it onto a target. This weapon can easily annhiliate planets.
In the sci-fi universe that the NXG come from, this is the largest and most destructive vessel fielded by anyone during the duration of the big intergalactic war that takes place. I just banged this out today during class, I was bored. I plan on finishing this for SFC, it's gonna be more polygon-heavy than my other models, weighing in at nearly 9000 polies.   Anyway, what do you guys think so far?

Thanks guys.
Oh I gots lotsa fleets....and lotsa natural enemies. The main races include: Humans, NXG, Obsidians, Regoshai, Centominae, Tirevoi, Nahan, Sree, Ultroids, and Mallfori. I could tell you about each individual races and fleets but we'd be here all day.

Anyway, since this is getting a good response I'll probably do some more related ships in the near future.

cool design but one thing, and nothing against you Desty, but why have all those ancient races a look like those ships are from the non warp rocketdrive era even if they are that much highly advanced to travel with warp or through the time !??

Who says those big things are rockets, Terradyhne?

Anyway, the NXG(and other races) do not use warp. Their method of FTL travel is by folding space and making a quick jump through a wormhole to their destination. I know it looks like they have giant rockets on the back, and honestly, that's what they're supposed to look like, but it's not what they're supposed to be. I guess that's just me turning viewers' expectations on their sides.

Since people have inquired about the other races in this universe, I decided to post some random models from it I have been working on for awhile.

http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=677644

This first one is a Sree Dreadnought. The Sree are a small reptilian species not unlike a cross between terrestrial snakes and skinks. They average about 4 feet in length and are fantastic climbers. They are an extremely proud race but also very xenophobic due to bad experiences with a neighboring species, the Nahan, in their early space travel days. They are forced into an easy alliance with Humans when the odds become incredibly stacked against them in the great war.

This second one is a Sree Supercarrier. For those wondering what this vessel is, think of the Mothership from Homeworld or the Seltorian Hiveship, and you'll have a good sense of what this ship's function is. It was designed early on the be the flagship for the core Sree defense fleets, and is a highly efficient shipyard in addition to being a powerful command ship.

This is the last one for now. This is the United Earth Interstellar Defense Force(UEIDF) Titan-class dreadnought. The Titan, while smaller than most other races' Dreadnoughts, packs a devastating punch for its size. It is bristling with mass driver guns, missile launchers, and laser turrets, carries 5 ultra-heavy "Blitzkrieg" missiles, and mounts the terrifying Siege Cannon(the GIANT gun barrel built into the ship's centerline). It also carries a small squadron of F-24 "Peregrine" superiority fighters to augment its defenses. Among the enemies of humanity, the Titan is very much known and feared. As you can probably tell, this particular model is WAY too high-poly for SFC. I'm planning on doing a SFC version someday, as I'm really fond of this ship. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this small further glimpse into my little sci-fi universe.

All of them are so cool, I don't know which I like best.

I do have a question about the UEIDF though?what exactly is the Siege Cannon?  It looks POWERFUL!

The Titan-class dreadnought is my favourite. It looks awesome.!!!

Imagine the feeling of being in an enemy ship and you see the Siege Cannon facing to you.....scary.

Superb work.

Thanks,

Mariano

Those are totally awesome, dude!
Are you going to use them in an online story? That would be really cool...write a story about your universe and make renders to illustrate it. I'd love to see some battle shots of these bad boys.

Thanks everybody! At the moment I'm actually making a comic book set in this universe. (I might drive down to Oregon and pitch it to Dark Horse Comics)

The Siege Cannon is a gigantic focused plasma cannon. It's designed for planetary assaults(it can wipe cities of the map in a single shot) and is actually too unwieldy to employ against ships most of the time. But, if the target is large and slow moving enough.....watch out.....
