Like the Snipe and the War Eagle, the Battlehawk is an old series ship. The original Hawk class was built in competition with the Warbird, but the Romulans evidently preferred the latter ship as they produced many times more Warbirds than Hawks. When warp technology became available, the Romulans converted some Hawks to Battlehawks along with the first Warbird/War Eagle conversions. After a short time, it was decided to standardize on the War Eagle and many of the remaining Hawks were converted to War Hawk light carriers(which in turn were converted to Chickenhawk PF tenders a decade later) or Pelican minesweepers.
At the time it was originally built, the Hawk was classed as a "second-class cruiser". The battlehawk was treated as a destroyer in the warp era, although the classification of all old-series Romulan ships is somewhat tenuous(they do not fit neatly into traditional niches).

I love the SFB Romulans. They are alot of very cool designs for them
An present some of the most original hulls....the later hawk series may not seem so bird-like
But with a very few modifications...you will have some that can be the most bird-like

Good stuff DN! Between you and Terradyne I've decided to reload OP and get to filling up firesouls long ship list once again. Of course once GAW's ship list comes out it'll be time to convert to that one.

That's really nice. I especially like the blue color scheme and the recessed warp exhaust. The glows look great, as usual with your models. Thanks, Desty for all of your work.

Thanks everybody! I promise that this, and many other things, will be released very, very soon!

BTW Azel, I've worked on the mirror Reyes a little here and there, but as myself and certain others could tell you, my life's been pretty crazy lately. For example, my car broke down on the freeway a few days ago and I had to push it over a mile to a parking lot at 4 o'clock in the morning in freezing temperatures. The engine's totally frozen for some reason and probably needs to be rebuilt.

Anyway, I've got vacation coming soon, so you'll see way more progress then. Sorry for the huge delay.
