It's overpriced and has several items that you would never use...you could probably build a very similar machine for around 2 to 3000 on your own...and not getting the things you don't need...Just my thoughts.

Once nanotechnology gets it down in the microchip field, this p/c will be nothing more than an oversized, overpriced handheld calculator. IBM has already been making breakthroughs, and I estimate the breakthrough will be this decade just like semiconductors hot the roof in the 90's. It's fact and not fantasy, even the federal govt. is pumping a couple of billion into R & D of nanotechnology.

Actually, I think a large chunk of the 14k is tied up in the twin 30-inch LCD monitors.  I'd take one very happily, what the hell you need 2 for??

My new system for $1500:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Thermaltake Venus 12 HS/Fan
Chaintech Zenith mobo
Chieftec full tower case w/window (4 fans)
2x Kingson PC3200 512MB DIMMs
Saphire Radeon 9800 pro
Logitech cordless duo
Maxtor 160 GB 7200 rpm SATA-150 HDD
NEC 4x DVD-+RW drive

It probably performs about as good as anything alienware puts out, less the 200 mhz and the second HT channel on the FX and the  clock cycles on the 9800 XT (I do appear to have a good card for OCing however).
