I won tickets in a raffle contest here in San Diego and I get to go see an advanced screening tonight at 7pm! All I have to do is wade through all the dress up Gandolfs and hobbits and wait in line at the theatre for my tickets.

I'll let you know my opinion of the film tonight.

For wading through hobits and gandolfs I'd recommend a scottish claymore... Or perhaps just a bastard sword, and a maniacally bellowed "Bood and souls! Blood and Souls for my lord Arioch!!!" That should cut down on the line a little bit.

There's supposed to be a screening at UCLA tomorrow night and my sister is pissed that she's coming back home tomorrow. Oh well, I guess she'll have to see it with the rest of us schlubs.

Congratulations Punisher! Have a great time watching the movie.

Me, I have to wait until Thursday of next week. Something called "work" keeps interfering with my social schedule.

We had to arrive at the theatre at 5pm (two hours before the show) due to the fact they gave out more tickets than they had seats for..to make sure it was a full house. At about 5:30 it began to rain while we were waiting outside..it took them till 6:00pm to get us inside and out of the freezing rain...and almost ruined my brand new leather jacket.

We waited inside for about 20 minutes before they started to search and frisk everyone to make sure we wern't carrying any recording devices

So me and my friend managed to get a seat, but they started the movie about 30 minutes late. All in all it was fairly close to the book...towards the end they cut off some more dreary scenes in order to project the "Happily ever after" theme. A bit long to sit through (3 hours and 20 min), but worth it in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the heads up SL, I still have not seen part two yet, but any movie that keps it's audience attention for over 3 hours is a steal in my book. Is why I loved POTC this summer, 2 1/2 hrs of fun... George Lucas would do well if he made the final Star Wars saga in a 3 hr plus format when it gets released, one of the biggest complaints about the new series is that the audience never gets to know the characters well like in the first series. He has too many people in the 3rd one, and will need a lot of time to let people get to know each one and what their fates are...
