Drop me a line via email and we'll talk about the Vegas trip thing. As for VB, Dallas is pro'ly a better sourse for tutorials as I barely looked at the language some time back. It's fine for RAD (Rapid Application Development) but is lousy for things like game programming of the calibar of SFC or NWN. Still, as a first step toward understanding programming logic VB is as good as any other language so long as you take the time to look at and comprehend the code that the VB designer does for you.

I've heard It was Pretty Flexiable. But to Be honest, I haven't done much Programing since the amiga's Where Popular.

I can recall Abit of Micromon ( C64 machine Language) , But all the Peeking and Poking I have done lately has been here.

Their forum is a really good place to pick up tips. Whenever I got stuck I would browse
the forum and see if anyone had a problem that was close to mine.

Ok, I just did a search on VB games and found several sites.
This one looked interesting.

The student version of VB is cool. If I remember correctly it is only
crippled in that it won't let you compile your project into an exe.

OH GOD!!! Don't give him any MSDN links. MS help files are the worse.
They don't even write that stuff in normal people english.

I just remember, the help section in the student version of VB is
disabled. Which doesn't make any sense cause if a person is using
the student version then they are more than likely learning the program
and would need the help files (even if the help files totally suck).

Bad news, I'm in the casino industry, but I'm in Mississippi not Vegas. I did do some checking on the web though and if you're not a hotel snob you can find some decent rates. $45 at the Stratosphere and $40 at Circus Circus. The newer, cooler casino's are a lot more money though.

I have been to Vegas quite a few times (corporate is there) but it's always on the company dime so I don't pay much attention to it.

In closing I guess ToastyO is your best bet for local information.

Microsoft has a couple of very good learning CD's. It's the Mastering Visual Basic series.

There is a Beginner CD and Intermediate CD. It has videos, example code, and a test at the end of each chapter.

One of the programnming communities that I lurk about just introduced VB as a language they now support.

Thanks toastyO, Yes this last weekend I've had a Bad cold, on top of helping my sister in law move. Hopefully tommorrow is the last day I have to help her out though.

It's just setting up all her appliances, TV DVD VCR, and PC.
