Very, very nice. Many compliments on the added superstruture details. They look like they were supposed to have been there all along. Since you have so much accomplished with the destroyer, have you considered finishing off the line with an over/under warp CL? The only one I know of that exists is FD13's. Just a thought.

Hi LS
It Looks really good. Do you want me to update the Development logo with this version? If yes send me the same
profile that I used for the logo and if you could make the background transparent that would be fantastic I can then
do the rest.

Oh yea be sure to read the readme.txt file for hardpoint info. the main difference is the addition of RH phaser 1s on the command varients. That and the addition of the 2 banks of Phas3s LS+RS really bring this ship into balance. The command versions have excellent Phaser coverage. I playtested quite a bit with them...

BG - yes I will send you a new render when I can or would you rather have the model itself? The logo is pretty small on the ship but I want to have larger one for its download page.

I know the website looks funky but Im gonna tune it up here and there i.e. fix colors etc.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Thank you. Mr. DuctTape will be doing an Akula for us, so I think that will fill the bill.

Kitbashers should find these ships ez to bash, as all the bitmaps are isolated to each component. I will provide blanks by request if not availble, as eventually all ships will have a blank texture set available.

DuctTape - Use center Dreadnought warp for top engine on the Akula.

Coolness...

HI LS
Better send me a render all I have is the m6's model editor and the taldren viewer but I'd like something biger than
the viewer I work in Microsoft photodraw to create the logos Like I said render with the background being transparent
would be optimal.

Awesome!!!

No, really, great work making each class a distinctive variant.  One questions, though, check the render of the Pontiac rear-view.  It looks like there is an untextured segment of the dorsal saucer between the added afterdeck and the impulse housing...

Way-too-cool, dude.

Any chance of a rehash of Ghosts Old CL model to round-out the TOS thing?

Gawd!  Check-out the level of detail on this thing!

I'm in mod-viewer magged-in on the shuttle-bay ledge where there's a complete paint-job on the landing-pad including bullseye type landing circle.  Check the labels on the outrigger sensor-pods and I especially like the details on the missle-racks (HLS, I assume?).

Somebody should offer you a job doing this.

Absolutely beautiful as always.  You are truly one of the finest TOS modelers.

Nice job retaining the spirit of the Saladin design, while adding the little details that FJ left out in their original kitbashing of the Connie.

Schtupp, I normally avoid TOS stuff as I'm a TMP fanboy but I now have all of the stuff on your site, one question - would it be possible to get a Connie with all the details you put on your other ships - glowing warp and impulse exhausts, aztec  hull panels, erm, that's it actually, I tried making the engines glow, but that texture also maps on to the 'fins' on the tops of the nacelles and makes them blue... Loved the Star League model though, really gives the impression of scale...

Yes vamp. I have already made a half-hearted start on an alternate set of 14 textures for the Connie. The version available now is what I call the "Scotty Edition" that is to say straight off the series. My intention is to bring the Connie up to SFC standards: Phasers, Torp tubes, more hull detail, glowey warps and impulse, more cleavage showing on the yeoman, and so on. 14 alt registaries plus blanks. This is what I would call the SFB version. Also need to fix a couple minor doodads u kno

Thanks for asking VL

Sounds great, Also I should say I tried to kitbash an F-CD out of your Saladin and Connie, but to no avail, M6 saved the file but the modviewer refuses to open it and so does SFCII Oh well back to the drawing board, I'm gonna try doing something less impressive - an Australia F-BC, probably using the pylons from the Federation but thinned out a little...

Maybe that wont crash the game

Oh and when I starteed on that last post you hadn't posted that WIP - it looks supoib! Caio tutti.

What exactly is an F-CD? Drone cruiser i imagine....

Well I could send you the 3ds files or max if you could open those VL - All you'll have to do is take the drone weapons deck and the drone1.bmp, drone1i.bmp files from the Pontiac and add to Connie, if that is your intention.

I really encourage kitbashing and I intentionally made it ezier to do so, but i would like an opprotunity to make final tweaks to the model before it gets released. Is that cool?

'Fraid I can't open those as I don't have 3DS or Max and I'm, shall we say, not in the possesion of the required monetary funds - I'm not gettin a few grand any time soon... What I tried to do with the CD - drone cruiser yes, is put the Connie and Alexander (DDG) meshes into the Federation class file - which has 32 textures - sufficient to support both the 10 connie textures and the necessary drone rack and antennae textures, then I just see where everything maps, and paste the connie and DDG textures over the Federation ones, this worked in the past with *some* P81 meshes, mainly the advanced cruiser he did, but with most meshes it doesn't but it was worth a try. Maybe I'll get max eventually and learn how to make my own models but for now it's impossible. Looking forward to the Hermes aswell, looks great with the sensor pod thingyon the top, reminds me of the Nebula

Hmm yes thats because the Eprise has LODs and the DDs do not. In order to retain the Connie's LODs you would have to make three copys of the imported mesh and attach one to each LOD model.

The current Eprise's hull plating doesnt match the DD anyway, so I guess I really need to update the Connie to SFB Standards first anyways.. I really been wanting  to do that; its been like a splinter in my mind, driving me mad....

Emerson, Lake & Palmer?

But I had no trouble making the CD in M6, LODs gave it a heart attack - as meshes don't go 'between' meshes - they seem to have to stay on the LOD they were originally on but it's SFC that doesn't like the new mesh mainly. Oh well I'm sure someone else will bug you about it enough so you do one

Molto bene...

One tiny request, could you make one with the torps on the bottom of the saucer? Like where they fired from on the show, but with those launchers. That'd be so cool. The ship looks very nice as is, but I never thought the torpedoes on the bridge module looked good.

Yes I agree. I dont why Franz Joseph didnt work out having both the torps and phasers on the bottom. Unfortunately that will be a bit of rework on the lower saucer. I like to boolean the ports out of the mesh but that entails deleteing the mesh modifiers (to lower the poly count) and remapping the textures (no big deal). I'll see what can be done

Right, I don't get what the hell you're on about with booleaning the ports out of the mesh, or deleting the mesh modifiers. But if you can do that without too much effort then that'd be great - you are pretty much responsible for me liking TOS stuff again.

Oh and I thought I'd ask, - I seem to have a really nice Phase II connie on my harddisk that I don't remember D/Ling - is it yours? It has the same phasers and the texturing looks like your style - it's labelled the USS Endeavour NCC-1716

Ok, cool; and I'm sure LS will leave one version like the FJS version. But one thing we have to have on either version - the Enterprise. The Constellation's all well and good for canon-fodder (get the joke?) but we need an SFB Enterprise. Oh BTW if you wanna see a great build-up of the Constellation go to CultTVman.com - under the Star Trek section there's a battle-damaged 18" Constellation by something Tavera - can't remember the guys name, it's got all the decks showing through the damage and the bussards are all torn up and blackened - looks real proffesional.

BUMP. Any news on the Connie, or the Hermes, or the Antares, or the furry dice - anything would be appreciated.

Did you know in the UK it's illegal to have furry dice? Finally a sensible law!
Also it's legal to have a black number plate with silver lettering as long as the plate was issued before '73 I think it is - that means if you get a private plate from before 1973 you can have it in black and silver. Just some oddball laws. Back to the Trek now!
