Credit Where Credit is Due
« on: December 10, 2003, 06:36:42 pm »
I have been taking too much credit for the work done on OP.
I did the work as a paid employee of Taldren (for the greatest
part) and therefore it is Taldren that deserves the credit for the
fixes on OP. I was part of a team (and pround to be so), and their
work on paying projects enabled me to work part-time on SFC,
in addition to my assign work on B9.  I guess I got suckered in
by the limelight and let it go to my head. I apologize for this.

Another thing, I am not SFC. If I go away tommorow, there will still
be SFC to play, thanks to Taldren. Zach and Ken continue to work
on the SFC3 server and God willing will finish their work soon so
we can get an official patch from Activision.

I don't plan on going anywhere soon, so you'll still have Dave to
kick around for awhile longer.

Thanks,

Dave

The patches Taldren has produced also would not have been possible
without the tireless efforts of our volunteer testing group:

3dot14, aaron_j_l, AdmiralFrey_XC, Ancient, Bloodfury, Bossman, Chris Jones, crimnick, CptCastrin,
Captain KoraH, FireSoul, mbday, NannerSlug, NuclearWessels, Pestalence, Reptor7,
RazalYllib, RogueJedi_XC, Ryker, Scrag, Strafer, TalonClaw, TheJudge, The Pelican,
TheSatyr, Tick and Toasty0 !

and I'm sure a few present and past members I'm am forgetting.

Thanks,

Dave,

I have been meaning to tip-toe an e-mail to KoraH, but wanted to give him some space ... Have you been in contact with him recently?

I got a long e-mail from him just after he pulled the plug on his server and left us all, so I was giving him time for some reflection before trying again ...

Any chance CaptainKoraH could be persuaded to revisit us? Perhaps an e-mail or phone call from you might help?

I miss his work ... and input.

I'm not trying to revive past hurts and issues here, but maybe it's time we all buried our hatchets and work toward the long-term good of the rapidly shrinking community.

Any help from you would be appreciated.

Thanks.

No I haven't heard from him.

I hold no animosity towards him, he was a great
asset to the community who went balastic over a little
criticisim for another member (why does this sound
familar to me).  I am not the forum Admin any more but
I would have no problem with his return (I was AFK for
the whole incident so am not as aware as Ann, she may
have a perfectly sound reason to be against it, I don't know
how she feels on the matter at all).

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

Just e-mail the man. See what he says. He respects you greatly.

 scott2978@yahoo.com

I will also make an attempt today, as he and I developed a good relationship after 6 campaigns. It wasn't easy, but we made it through and learned how to deal with eachother -- both being the stubborn grunts that we are ...

Just try, sir. All we can ask.

Well, Ann ... Now that he had had some time alone, perhaps we can have a little "intervention" of sorts and approach him?

I know this may be "extending" the rules a bit, but his knowledge, commitment and dedication shown to this community -- despite his seemingly irrational explosion -- might pay off for all of us.

Just a thought. I know you have his #, and maybe you can give him a jingle or send him an e-mail.

Perhaps, or maybe he was just burned out, Jerry, and needed a rest and some time with his new bride.

Maybe KoraH would want a hand extended his way ... just a thought.

I'll drop this now, but I tell you his absence leaves a hole in this community that needs to be filled.

But seriously, I won't call or email Korah. People grow and change and sometimes that change is preceded with a big bang, sometimes the old just fades away. This was a big bang but it might be just what needed to happen in Korah's life. He is a big boy. I think it would do him a disservice to assume after all of his protests about being done with this community time and time again to thwart his success by telling him that he really doesn't  know what is best for his life.

OK, that tunnel effect again. I'm getting dizzy. Perhaps I finally need glasses.

Ahhhh. The Taldren web is closing in ... I can't get out!!! Noooooo.

Not the "Spider Lady," Ann. Noooooo. Don't bite.

Thanks,

Dave

Damn skippy you forgot a few people!

I can imagine Tim (Ann's husband and artist extraordinaire), squirming reading this.

Thanks,

Dave

Well put.

Thank you for your mention, and thanks for your works.

We talked about that

Regards,
