Maybe someone can answer this...
« on: December 07, 2003, 10:44:31 am »
I asked this over in the MOD section yesterday, but as yet no one has answered...When I play as the Federation in single-player campaign mode, the game errors out if there are AI Federation ships present. There can be any other race there, but if there are any other Feddies there, the game freezes. Not every time, mind you, but very often. Does anyone know what I mean? Is there a way to fix this?

Well which game series? and are you using a Mod'd shiplist and if so did you erase any of your old saved campaigns? If you didn't that old data will not mesh correctly with the new mod'd shiplist.

Well, I'm using SFC OP, the shiplist is the original shiplist, albeit with a few changes. I have definitely erased all old saved campaigns.

You mentioned a few changes in the shiplist, and only Fed ships cause a crash.  Make sure that the model pointers are correct for the Fed ships.  If a model pointer is incorrect and points to, say, nothing, or if the folder or .mod is named incorrectly, the game will crash when that ship or ships appear in a mission.

That's allways good advice, Wanderer. I'll double check that.
