It's christmas time...any lame gifts?

You know them...the socks with colors you don't like and would never wear. The horrible tie that matches nothing you own...yes it's time for christmas; but it's also time for those lame crappy gifts we all hate.

Ever have an aunt that liked to knit her own christmas presents? I have about 10 afghan throw rugs that are just collecting dust in some closet. Or I just love the gift that requires money to use. Giving someone a cellphone that locks them into a 2 year contract ranks right up there as one of the more annoying gifts.

So list off some lame presents you've recieved over the years....

About the lamest gift I can only say I got was jeans that my wife bought and some nice denim shirts and stuff, too bad they were the wrong size. I marched her ass back to Dillards and had her return EVERYTHING. I think she learned pretty quick if you buy jeans for someone, make sure you take the time to look at what size they wear! Better yet, take them shopping afterwards and say pick out what clothes you want.

How about some I've given?

A 5' tall inflatable Penguin.

This year I plan to give a collectors edition DVD of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes to a movie nut friend (he likes bad movies), without a DVD player .  Actually the 1.4ghz computer I loaned him does have a DVD player, but somehow I never installed the DVD software and he can't figure out how.

27 (all at once) cookbooks to my youngest sister.   There is a running gag that the only thing she can't burn is charcoal.

A Roadkill cookbook for the same sister.  Different year though.

Melted snowman.  I warned him to keep it refrigerated .

The classic "I don't know what the hell to get you, so I got you this" gits:

- Fruitbread
- Socks
- Tie
- Box package of cheese selection and a sausage
- Handkerchief

I remember when I was little my grandmother always bought me underwear, and I never liked it.  Then one year when I was a teen I realized "Hey, you know.  Some new underwear would actually be nice." and was looking forward to it.  That year she bought me a bunch of books that I had wanted.  I was happy wth the gift, but it was funny that the ONE year I was ready for her usual gift, was the year she decided to stop giving it to me!

My Aunt June was like that with the Underwear.

hehe, Of course everyone knows basicly about my mothers Mental problems, But I do get tickled with her each year.

One year, as I was getting ready to ship out to the Marines the next summer, She went out and bought me A transformer. the funny thing is , I hadn't played with toys for a couple of years, Let alone Transformers.

then one year for my Birthday, she bought up alot of old magazines from some Garage sell. I was kinda disapointed, untill I saw they where Asimov's Magazines, some of them quite old.

Last year, she bought me a VHS tape called Eye's of Mars. I still haven't Got around to watching It all the way through though. Bless her heart she tries, But she still thinks of me as a little kid. I think this Is probably how she remembers me most of the time, Because that's when her mental Problems first started.
